Appreciate the extreme kindness to my wallet lately, sirs, even if it does fill me with a certain dread of a super excellent giant sale that I'll be unable to pass up.
do you own it already or something? Volume 2 is the good shit.
Soooo now that we are in the digital era... Couldn't we have a revival of some of the smaller series that got cancelled due to crappy sales? I'm looking at you Runaways. With cheaper distribution, how about a digital only relaunch of the title? Maybe that's why they've put the series on sale... I can dream.
Didn't runaways get kinda crappy after the original writer left the title?
ehhhh
Whedon's run was just a bit pointless. It was similar to Jeff Parker's Thunderbolts .1 reboot, in which it threw the characters back in time, but didn't really do anything with the concept, beyond that.
Terry Moore's run was okay, but aimless.
Immonen's suffered from what I feel was a fledgling writer's inability to tell a cohesive story.
I've said this before, but the big problem with the Runaways, is that Vaughan finished their story. They beat all their arch-nemeses, and reached a point that it would make sense for them to withdraw from the public eye.
The closest thing they had to a mission statement, was to travel the Marvel U and rescue superpowered children from circumstances. But, the X-Men already sort of have that idea on lock.
That is RIDICULOUS. Saga has had straight sex scenes. This is blatantly homophobic. Like ot in a "wah wah there aren't enough gay super heros" subjective sort of way. By banning this Apple is essentially saying "Straight sex is okay, giants with pussy ball sacks are okay,CHILD SEX TRADE IS OKAY... but two men making love... That's where we draw the line"
This is actually not just homophobic it's sexist. Somehow the lesbian sex on Sextillion was okay but men having gay sex isn't? Because obviously women can't really be gay right? They just do it for the men right?
The feedback department is definitely going to raise an eyebrow when they see the message I just sent them.
I have been informed that Apple will not be releasing the issue # 12 of the comic book saga for iOS the application comixology because it contains a gay sex scene. This censorship is unacceptable. It sends the message that homosexuality is wrong.
It is confounded by the fact that you have allowed straight sex scenes to be portrayed in the same comic without censorship. Which sends the message that heterosexual sex is okay but gay sex is not.
This decision is also sexist because you have allowed sex between women to be depicted in past issues of the comic without censorship which can be interpreted as meaning that you do not believe female sexuality to be of the same importance as male sexuality. Is female on female sex acceptable because it pleases men where as male on male sex is unacceptable because it may repulse some straight men?
Please think seriously about what sort of image you want the Apple brand to portray. I will be spreading this message to other consumers.
Apparently, comiXology misinterpreted Apple policies and concluded that they couldn't make Saga #12 available. Then they actually spoke to Apple, realized that it was all good, and now you can get Saga on an iPhone again.
This actually raises more questions for me:
1) Which policies did comiXology think this issue was running counter to? They never do specify.
2) What's different about this issue of Saga? I haven't read it, but everyone's saying that the only difference is that it's two dudes getting it on, rather than two ladies or a dude and a lady.

If we are going to give them the benefit of the doubt and not assume its the fact that the content is homosexual, then I'd suppose it's probably the fact that it portrays an erect, ejaculatjng penis.
As much nudity and sex as the series has had, that's something that they truthfully haven't shown. My assumption is that they felt that crossed the line into pornography in a more explicit way than just some frank nudity or shock imagery like the giant monster with the pustulant testicles.

It seems kind of weird to me that Comixology didn't say anything yesterday. Maybe they figured it'd be better to say nothing and let Apple take the hit than to say "we're waiting to hear from Apple about this?" and have everyone jump on them about it?
HMMMM this is getting confusing. Best case scenario: Comixology thought the ejaculating penis was the issue, said to image it couldn't ship, BKV took it badly and made it about the gay sex.
Worst case scenario it's all true and Apple is making comixology cop the blame.
I wanted to apologize to everyone for this entire SAGA #12 kerfuffle. Yesterday, I was mistakenly led to believe that this issue was solely with Apple, but it’s now clear that it was only ever Comixology too conservatively interpreting Apple’s rules. I’m truly sorry. I never thought either company was being homophobic, only weirdly inconsistent about what kind of adult material was permissible. I’m grateful that the situation was cleared up so quickly, and I’m delighted I can go back to reading smutty comics on my Retina Display iPad.
I feel like such a champ. I managed to dl them all the first time. Then I got charged 400 bucks on my phone for not conecting to my wireless at home. BUT THEN I angry customered my way out of the bill. I still had to pay 20 bucks excess but god damn putting in a solid complaint can save you some cash.
So am I out of luck for the Marvel #1 promotion? I didn't know I need to sign up for some registration form. It's no big deal but it's mildly annoying. I think I got most of them from the original promotion anyways.
There I was, 3DS: 2621-2671-9899 (Ekera), Wii U: LostCrescendo
I wound up with 723 also. I wasn't brave enough to put them all in my cart at once, so I did it in shifts. That made it easy...add all the Avengers comics, check the numbers, and so on.
