A couple friends and I are going to try and 5 man normal Flame Leviathan tonight for shits and giggles.
2 demos and a siege.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Will we need to launch people? Does anything think it'll be possible?
Fairly sure it's been done with just two demos and 4 people. You just keep smashing pyrite on there and sit in opposite corners. far left and near right sides should give you the longest kite distance.
A buddy and I tried to two-man FL 10-man the other day. First, for trash we took a Demo and a Bike...I rounded up a ton of dwarves and pulled them back to the Demo near the entrance, set an oil slick on him and lit it up. Got Dwarfageddon in like 3 seconds. Since our 25-man seems to have trouble implementing this plan, we're probably going to try two-manning the heroic achievement too.
Bike and Demo cleared all the trash pretty easily. Tried to kill FL with two Demo's, but he or the vehicles kept bugging out when we would switch seats to grab pyrite. Vehicles would randomly despawn, or he would not change targets, etc. Got him to 40% before we wiped though.
So, we grabbed two more guys (solely to grab pyrite for us), and four-manned him in the two Demo's, first try. So we're probably going to do this every week now, at least until I get my trinket.
How do you do it with 2 demos? Put them in opposite corners so that he keeps going back and forth between?
Basically, yeah. At the beginning of the fight you have to kite him a little if you're the first target (Demo1), but just kite him so you end up near a corner. Demo2 dumps all his pyrite and moves toward the opposite wall. When he switches to Demo2, Demo2 stops shooting and moves to the very corner, then starts shooting again. Meanwhile, Demo1 lines up with his back to the other corner, and stays just far enough away to still hit FL.
Then, just dump pyrite constantly and make sure to back up all the way into the corner when he's coming at you. It's actually really easy as long as you have the pyrite. He dies pretty fast.
[edit] Also, we 2-manned Heroic: Dwarfageddon this week, so that's not too tough either.
[edit2] And, I imagine having a fifth person in a Siege would actually make this harder...you probably want to put the 5th in a bike to slow FL between corners (or just not take him and keep the loot for yourselves).

Given how easy Flame Leviathan is I'm surprised by how much difficulty my guild has with it.
I think the problem is that people are more concerned with getting launched then refilling pyrite on demos.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain that FL isn't slowed by tar, and hasn't been since the 3.1 PTR.
So whats the best way to handle tanking adds on yogg 1 light 10 man, I have very little experience on his last phase at all and I have a trial by fire that I fucked up last week.
Like any tricks to make seeing where they pop from easier, cause the one in back run through yogg and smack a healer before I can even mouse over them.

Seperate your camps. Your healers should be stood over near the door to stop that from happening.

You are correct. Tar is only useful for adds or lighting on fire underneath him so if you don't have Fraya's tower up being on a bike is pretty damn boring.

The tar does a lot of damage to FL when it's lit up.

Yeah it's great if you are causing shutdown but you only need to bother with shutdown with 2+ towers. And really there is no reason to do 2 towers instead of 3 since 2 towers gets you nothing useful. Even 3 towers is kind of dumb except that 4 is hard.

Hm, wasn't aware of that. He probably just dies so fast these days in "real" runs that I never really noticed the speed.

That and more. Focus Target Yogg so you know when he is casting gaze. Also keep a eye on the CD time of gaze DB or Bigwigs give. They are not 100% accurate but they help. Biggest thing is don't be afraid to taunt when your back is to them. You taking a hit to the back verus a healing getting one shotted. While your tanking the add, pan your camera around to find the next one. (I hope your not a clicker :P). Make sure your camera is set to max distance and it that isn't enough for you do the macro for camera distance. /cameramaxfactordistance 8. (I think that's the macro, I know it's something like that). That should let you see over yogg's head and be able to target the mobs running through the yogg. Watch your sanity and good luck.
People got banned for undermanning FL with all 4 towers by glitching it and bringing FL to the entrance area so they could graveyard spam the encounter or something like that.
At least a couple people all got banned in the same sweep for the FL+4 exploit for using only two vehicles and ping ponging him back and forth between corners. When someone asked a GM about it, he said it was an exploit as well though given the quality of GMs it could have just been a mistake.

But if I use the mouse to turn how can I cli....I'll stop right there.
Went with a completly new group of players last night to Ulduar 10. They are 25man naxx/os/maly geared to perfection. We downed Flame with 9 people, xt was down after 1 wipe, and razorscale downed on first attempt. I hope this group stays together because they are simply awesome at paying attention and doing what they are told. Very very fun night. Going to do Ignis (sp?) and move to the other folks tonight. Should be a fun couple months raiding.

that is not why they got banned
they did the pingpong strategy but they dragged him out of his starting area
pingponging FL Doesn't work so well when you have 4-5 ice beams, Mimiron's fire, Thorim's Hammer, and Freya's adds all over the place.

Why did they get banned for that? They did something the game allowed them to do.

because dragging him out of his starting area to avoid four main mechanics of a hard mode fight is pretty fucking obviously an exploit
just because its there doesn't mean you can use it
if the game accidentally had an area where you could go to kill monsters that gave you 1000x more experience than they were supposed to, if you used that area to level multiple characters, thats also pretty fucking obviously an exploit.
I seem to remember some people complaining about being banned for doing FL+0 with 2 vehicles and not doing any of the exploits as well during the same time that everyone else got banned, but it's been a while so I could be mistaken.
It's plucking from the tree of knowledge. Yes it's there, it exists and it is within your faculties to do so, but you've been expressly told by the powers that be not to eat the apple. So if you do, don't be too surprised when you feel the backlash.
"Let's just do Ulduar tonight, we'll knock out the beasts when things are less laggy tomorrow. A log of guilds will either kill it or give up tonight."
So we get to XT... heart phase spawned, by a very rough estimate, 24 bomb bots, 9 pummelers, and enough scrap bots that we basically got the Nerf Scrapbots achievement automatically while we wiped.

yeah in 10s we had a mage and hunter go kill one bomb on each side (which would kill a dozen or more things) while the rest just beat on the heart. But now we can't loot xt and the server just failed.
Guild I just joined we 1 shot Beasts on 25, was rather easy. We were going to do Heroic 25 man Beasts but found out we couldn't till we cleared the Normal 25. Went and did Ulduar, 2 shot FL 4 Towers. Second attempt FL was grayed out to me so I didn't get the achievement, and I couldn't loot FL. Went and did XT and we had that ridiculous number of adds spawn doing hard mode. Also ran the new Heroic 5 Man and then the Normal one A LOT. I'm hoping that Trial of the Crusader gets more difficult the farther in we get.

LOL
yeah it's happening to everyone. we just got to XT and we are howling... we got XT to 10% though :P

dealing with one heart phase of overwhelming adds would be easier than trying to do three.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted lol
