His wws at the end of the kill had his wand damage at his second highest output. 1200 dps. For fuck sakes.
On another note, our foray (finally) into Ulduar 10 man hardmodes is having fun on Hodir HM... which actually isn't going to badly. we were about 3-4% away except for the fact that two of our decent dpsers decided to come up lame with a 3.5 and 3.9k dps mark through all encounters.
Edit: What I wouldn't give for a good ret paladin. Having no dps buffs outside flasks, food, pots and motw makes this a pain in the ass. I also just realized that I didn't bother having WF down infavour of wrath. Bleh.

This is us too. Our top DPS are only breaking 5.5k... then it jumps to about 4.5-> 3.5
Either my 10-man is completely awesome or we've gotten really lucky with group comp for heroic FC 10. One-shot both weeks. Yet another guild group spent like 20 of their attempts wiping on it last week and eventually gave up.

The enemy comp can make such a huge difference. This week, my guild oneshot everything in ToGC except faction champions. They got three healrs, rogue, DK, warrior and got raped in bad ways. Another guild had all their wipes on beasts but got no healers on champions and still hit tribute to insanty. Our 25 man normal only had one healer this week, too, and it was so much easier than any other night with those fucks.
We had hunter, enh shaman, DK, resto druid, holy paladin, and (our only saving grace and it was a pretty minor one) shadow priest. We didn't stand a fucking chance.
And now the raid leader is pondering giving up the friday 10 raid completely because the tuesday 10 raid never has this problem and clearly it's 100% our fault UGH

Our dps has gotten amazingly better in the past month, I have to say. Between the emblem changes and getting more consistant kills on bosses further and further into ulduar, I have to guess our gear is just getting better. We're up to hodir at this point, got him down once last week, but this week, even when we kept the whole raid up the whole time, we still hit up on the enrage timer. As I understand it, the debuff stacks sometimes fell off the boss, which i guess means people weren't breaking out npc's fast enough? or something. As much as I am happy that our dps has gotten better, it seems like it still not good enough.
We're not even thinking about ToC at this point yet.

when it comes to Hodir, if you're anywhere near the enrage timer, its not a case of DPS gear, its a case of DPS not being very good at utilizing the encounter buffs like Storm Power and the beams of light.

Most of ToC is easier than the latter parts of Ulduar.
I don't know if I was in this Fusion guild or not, but at launch of classic WoW I was a part of a guild called Fusion on the Blackhand realm. Blackhand is a launch server, and the Fusion on that server was born very close to release. I don't know if they split up or changed servers or what...
I was playing an Alliance druid at the time. As some of you might recall from classic WoW, druids only had 1 viable role in raids: healing. And it sucked, because HoTs didn't stack. That means in a raid of 40 people, where you likely had anywhere from 3-6 druid healers, only one of those druids got to cast more than one spell. Most druids just casted Nature's Touch over and over which was pretty much the suckiest thing ever. At least paladins have 2 buttons to push.
The moral of the story is, I hated raid healing on my druid and left Blackhand to pursue a career on Arthas as a Horde. I have no idea what actually became of my guild, Fusion of Blackhand.

Champion fight is like a bunch of PVP wankers suddenly coming into your raid and shitting in your face.
Especially given you have king dick Varian Wrynn sitting up there yelling out "Worthless Scrub!" when you die. Not sure if Garrosh is as much of a prick to Alliance raids.

Also, my guild is getting better and better at the Champions fight. It's pretty much not a problem at all for us anymore. On heroic 10man last night we did take something like 5 tries to figure out the best strategy for the group we got, but comparing that to the 20+ tries we used on it last week, it's a vast improvement.
It doesn't help their crowd control doesn't have diminishing returns. It only follows the initial maximum duration.
Our only dispeller died in 10man last week, and I got chain sheeped 3 times in a row for the full duration each before the mage got bored and stopped CC'd me.
Edit: Wait a fucking second. I think that was 25man. Fuck our raid composition was bad.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
The twouble with faction twampions is that they are far more punishing of awkward raid makeups due to the necessity of CCs on them and dispels on your party. Which is a radical shift from the awkward-friendliness of all other WotLK raids.

The only reason we have so much trouble with faction champions is because our only real CCer is a Mage, and possibly our Feral Druid who normally tanks and has no casting gear to speak of so controlling the melee (which is an absolute necessity on heroic) is a fucking impossible task.
Technically speaking every CC will last 10 seconds at first (unless it has a lower maximum duration), but the odds of one of the wankers dispelling it before it reaches that full duration are very very high at the start of the fight.
Man, why does my ret pally CC (forget the name) only last 5 fucking seconds in that fight, too?
It's all PVP duration. Except they get limitless trinkets and seem able to apply several DoTs/HoTs within one GCD and so on and so forth.
We by some miracle managed to kill them on our second attempt tonight after several horrible rape attempts the other night. Assigning specific people to lock down/kite specific mobs seemed to be key. Plus warlocks/other squishies I think finally learned to run away from the bad men.
Then we spent like an hour wiping to Val'kyr Twins with a badly misinterpreted strat from Tankspot. Sigh.

The difference between having wounding poison one week and not having it another was so fucking huge.
An MS debuff makes the champion fight so much easier.

Back when we completely split up ranged into two groups, I had to ask that question once when our side didn't get a single shadowcrash.
(The strat of splitting but sharing the same shadowcrash works much better.)
