Wait, that looks like FFCC art in the background.

Or they're publishing that old neo-victorian thing they said they were going to do.

Maybe it's Final Fantasy Legend 4?

Which were technically SaGa games, but so what.

I seem to recall SE expressing interest in revisiting that series.

EDIT: I just wanted to point out that FFL2 & 3 remain among my favorite games ever.

EDIT2: Damnit, looks like 2 is already getting a remake. How did I miss this?

Is the four pronounced yon or shi?

Anyway, it sounds like the FFL theme from the GBA.

SaGa IV on the DS. And I wouldn't mind one bit. The SaGa games and pokemon were my first introduction to rpgs.

I'd think that 'new evidence' is pretty meaningless since it could easily be the SaGa 2 remake that he's working on (plus the possibility that he's working on a non-SaGa project).

Except that the SaGa 2 remake has been in production for quite some time now, seems a bit late to be calling him in for art.

And I'm just being hopeful. Either way I'm looking forward to SaGa 2. Isn't that the one where you kill god? I can never remember which is which.

Why not? I mean, I'm in the SaGa or FF1-related camp personally, but some idyllic little village isn't really a stretch for a Grandia game.

Although after that last one, I kinda hope they just never make another game.

Because Square-Enix doesn't own Grandia. Unless they've got Game Arts' copyright and whatnot up there too, it'd be illegal... and inane.

I'd be pretty pumped for a SaGa 4 game. I loved 3 on the SNES and played the hell out of the Romancing SaGa remake on PS2.

Really, I just love ridiculous combo attacks and every time my characters get a "glimmer", it makes my heart skip... in a good way.

As said, maybe they're taking a page out of Capcom's playbook and doing Final Fantasy Legends 4 all retro and american-release-bastardized and such. That or maybe it's going to be half a compilation of the GB Saga Games and then half this gigantic stereotypically-Square epic thing to try and tie them all together.

As a guy who's primary Saga consumption has been GB 1-3 and 3 on the SNES, is there any reason I shouldn't cut loose with the "SaGa Frontier IS RS4 hurf durf" that's running around my head right now?

EDIT: Is it just me or did we just hit some wierd-ass temporal speedbump or something just now

There has been several SaGa games.

Final Fantasy Legend 1-3, Romancing SaGa 1-3, SaGa Frontier 1-2, Unlimited SaGa, and the remake of Romancing SaGa. I'm not sure, but isn't The Last Remnant a SaGa game as well?

I really don't see how this could be at all related to Final Fantasy Legends.

As we all know, the Legends title was used to shoehorn FF popularity onto the SaGa games for the American audience.

That teaser site is a Japanese page.

If it's a SaGa game, they'll just call it a SaGa game there. And keep calling it a SaGa game if they release in the US, because they've no more need to pull that kind of silly marketing crap anymore.

I can't say I'd be terribly excited about a new SaGa game if it follows the original formula more than the Romancing or Frontier lines. The music was about all I could tolerate from them.

Sounds more like the echoes of an old Enix-based game than a Square property. It really reminded me of the various Dragon Warrior overworld and ending themes.

I hope to god it isn't SaGa 4. The first two were insane, the 3rd was cheap and boring. I'm sure them being touted as Final Fantasy games here in the US doesn't help my perception of them.
