In the PC version is there some sort of location teleport console command to place me in specific spots? I managed to create a save where I'm apparently falling under through the command center of the Normandy surrounded by darkness (and with my squad mates and my weapon drawn) despite being on a planet while saving. I have an auto save about 20 minutes earlier, but its that Cerberus mission where you have to clear out the research stations and I really don't feel like doing that again.
Hm, I'm not sure I have crosshairs on that save to be honest. I can try it in a minute though.
EDIT: Teleport did it, thanks Xeddicus.
I didn't have crosshairs but it still worked. Odd thing is, even though the save said I was on the Normandy when I looked up and teleported twice it put me back on the planet (once didn't work, was still falling through blackness). Well, I put me several hundred feet above the planet actually, thanks goodness for no fall damage. Also, it put me half way across the map from where the save was made (and where my Mako was parked).
DEAR PEOPLE WHO USE 'NO PUN INTENDED' ALL THE FUCKING TIME EVEN FOR THE SMALLEST AND MOST PITIFUL UNINTENDED PUNS. YOU ARE THE WORST KIND OF HUMAN BEING. KINDLY CURL UP AND DIE ALONE YOU ASSHOLE.
I'm visiting my family in florida, and my mom is watching delta farce right now (imagine the three amigos, only a LOT more retarded). Hearing captain anderson's voice is very... disorienting.
I'm also expecting him to punch someone in the face. So far I'm disappointed.

Imagine a twenty minute fight sequence between Anderson and Shepard. Except Shep just refuses to put on the goddam sunglasses.
I decided to man up and play Insanity from level 1 instead of just zipping through it on my NG+ soldier.
Went with an Adept with Decryption (so things can't shoot me...even when they're not floating around the room!). Only done Therum so far, working through Noveria now, it's not bad. I loves me some biotics. Garrus and Liara are my companions this time through (they're the last two achievements I need, along with Stasis, Neural Shock, and Hacking).
Hmm, can I "reconstruct profile" in the middle of the game? I assume no, and can I do it to the base profile? I picked that first I hope I didn't shaft myself on new playthroughs. And if so, where?

This cannot be done. Once you create a Shepard you're stuck with whatever choices you make once the game begins. Skill points cannot be reassigned on New Game+ (despite all party members...including Jenkins...being able to do so) and the only thing you can 'alter' is when you choose the bonus class after the Luna mission.\
You can, however, have multiple complete game Shepard saves (they're designated by first name, save dates, and final level) so you may start wholly new games using whatever choices you like. (Word of 'caution': you are forced to choose from a list of available bonus skills if you have unlocked them. Keep this in mind as the number of skill points you earn does not increase on subsequent start-overs so you'll be spreading yourself even thinner.)
My guess is you find yourself at a point in the game where you wish you'd made different choices to start. It has probably happened to everybody. Your options are to see this Shepard through to the end or start completely over from scratch.
EDIT:
Unless you're running the PC version... I believe you can edit to your black heart's content. Others should be able to tell you how that's done.

Cool thanks, I'm doing fine with the default anyway.
I explored every planet I found, did every sidequest I found, kept the same party through the whole thing, and did the DLC.
I didn't get the ally achievements.
What the fuck?
Depends on who you tried to do those achievements with. If you tried for Liara, it's notably difficult to pull off, as you must leave the Citadel as quickly as possible, get her and then do a LOT of the content with her in your party. If you switch up your party much at all, you can jeopardize getting the other(s) pretty easily, or so I've heard.
They're pretty much the only achievements I'll probably never get, as I like being able to swap people around, rather than being stuck for multiple playthroughs with only 2 characters per run.
I hope they don't do those in the sequel. As nice as it is to have rewards for your most tenacious fans, it seems a bit.. obnoxious, for a game with only 2 party member slots and half a dozen members, at least one of whom might require multiple playthroughs if you somehow screw up the first one.
Hint: If you try for Liara, Gamefaqs it first.

Ugh, you have to do the sidequests with them for that achievement? I don't really feel like surveying the whole galaxy again.

It depends on the character. With one like Kaiden it's not so rough, as you can have him in your party from the start. With Liara... good luck. The rest fall somewhere in between, I believe.
But that's just from what I've read here in the various ME threads. I don't have any of the ally achievements, and given my backlog, I'm not even sure when I'll get back around to Forar Shepard: Biotic Douchebag, my most recent playthrough.

I got Wrex and Tali without even trying, but I would have received the level 50 achievement if you actually got experience for beating the crap out of Saren. I was just hoping I could skip most of the sidequest stuff in replays excepting my paragon path play.
Which is making me think it might be a good idea to restart my current tech character and just go for some holistic lesbian commune with Liara and Ashley, then blow it off on a biotics spree with Garrus and Kaiden for the last.
edit: it says something weird about Mass Effect that I'm not concerned about redoing playing up to the citadel, but that losing my perfect makeup settings is a little distressing.
I found the Asari Ally achevement way easier than I expected.
I did:
No Citadel quests, went straight to Therum.
Did all quests/sidequests on Feros/Noveria.
Went to the Citadel and did all those sidequests.
Went and did the sidequests that are voided when the Citadel is locked down.
Did Vermire.
And then the Level 20 class quest.
Then said screw it, went to Ilos, and got the achevement after talking to the broken message that unlocks the way to the AI.
And that's it. I didn't have to do any UNC sidequests at all. (Well, maybe one of two.)

On the topic of makeup, it kind of says something interesting about the engine that garish lipstick and hair colors don't look freakish, but any powder does - my gothette soldier went through looking perfectly fine with jet black hair and lips, but she had very neutral eyeshadow as anything more interesting looked like she was sleeping in kohl. Same with my engineer - bright coral lipstick is fine, but eyeshadow or blush is too much. That's something I'd like to see fixed.
edit: it may be just the story quests in that case, because I did EVERY UNC quest and got those achievements at the exact same point.

Yes. Considering that you should have only completed Story Missions before you got Liara, I figured they were the limiting factor. Thank god I didn't do all the damn sidequests.
but considering how hot you can make femshep, that might be worth it.

I always wanted a romance option of Alternative Universe Shepard (being female Shepard) and Male Shepard :winky::winky:
Would that be incest though? If it was literally through extra-dimensional thingamabob a female version of a male Shepard? Or would be some other form of -tiality we haven't heard of?

Priceless!!!
Now all we need is a photoshop of her with the tophat Wrex and the universe be complete.

All very strange.
Nobody cares.

The fact that it wasn't really augmented at that point in the game really pissed me off.
Unless "being able to see as well as without sunglasses but not better" is augmentation.
I always supposed that JC has some ulterior, latent augs which handles this. He can at least take a sniper round to the head without dying.
He does have a light emitting from his eyes. I think it's his eyes.
