Try Mount&Blade. There's no real story but what you make of it, but if you can get into it it's pretty much endless.
Demo is available, and it's still on sale for $15 for the next day or two.
I have played Mount and Blade, it's a nice game, but not quite what I am looking for. I am really looking
for that story, there are a massive amount of old rpgs that I haven't played, but I need help deciding which one..
The DRM for X3: Terran Conflict will be removed Oct 16 this year. They developer stated that they will remove the DRM in a patch a year after it's release as they did with the original X3, so the years anniversary is this October 16th.
Knights of Honor... is slow. Really really slow. A time compression mode would've made this game worthwhile but sitting around for an hour to raise enough money to do something and then raising money for another hour gets pretty old. That being said once you have enough land and wealth it can be fun. If you got A LOT of free time then give it a shot. Also, look for the remove opening movie patch. It's pretty long, cannot be skipped, and plays every time the game launches.

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, I'd say.
Vampires it is then!, it looks like a good game, ill take the plunge and buy it. Thanks!

The Fallout collection is on sale at gogamer for only $11. Comes with 1, 2, and tactics
Yeah, I bought it and that Europa Universalis. Knights of Honor is a really simplistic empire building game, yet is quite fun. Europa seems like it's fun, but I can't yet figure out how to play it. I lost several provinces because I couldn't figure out how to get units on a boat.
Did you get Rome or III? Either I would have recommended over Knights of Honour, although, you really need the manual in your hands while you are learning to play.
Edit
For loading units onto boats, the boats need to be undocked from the port and at sea in the territory.
I got the one that's $15 this weekend.. III, with both expansions.
I don't feel bad about spending $8 on Knights of Honor. Manually running the battles is kind of fun.
Kings Bounty: The Legend. Is it any good/worth buying?
It's a lot of fun if you enjoy that HoMM style gameplay. I did burn out on at around 18 hours played, but I'll go back to it at some point. And it is very well done for that type of game.

Once Tropico Reloaded unlocks, I'm getting that along with Mount & Blade.
Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition is so very, very tempting right now, but I just can't be spending the money at the moment. It's such a struggle, fighting off the little devil on my shoulder who keeps whispering "torrent, they'll never know!" Just a couple more days til payday...
Also, can somebody hook me up with an invite to the Steam group? My info is in my sig.
So I just remembered that there was a wiimote mod for hl2 that I tried about a year or so ago but gave up on because setting up the wiimote and controls was a pain. I got the urge to try it again and see if I can bother setting it up properly this time but when I try to install it it complains that steam isn't installed.
Reinstalling steam didn't help so I'm asking if anyone of you have the thing installed and could upload a zip of the mods steamapp folder somewhere so I can install it manually or has some idea on how to get it to work.
Man, you're in for such a treat. So many wonderful things happen in that PA steam group. Lovers met, Enemies clashed, friendships were forged. There was that time that TychoCelchuu said that hilarious thing to Goomba, and then Slim had that marvelous comeback ready.
Almost a year after initial release, Bionic Commando Rearmed is on Steam. I'd assume that most people who want it on PC already have it from a different digital distribution service. I know I do.
I'm a few weeks behind the discussion, but I just downloaded the HOMM V demo and was considering buying the full game. I've been playing the 2v1 scenario that comes with the demo, and I'm about 5 hours into my first game, and maybe halfway done. I'm new to the genre, so I'm starting at the bottom of the learning curve, but I was wondering, is it normal for things to take this long or am I doing it wrong? Does the full game with a tutorial, or a campaign that ramps up in complexity and difficulty?

The full game does come with a tutorial, and the campaign also gradually increases in complexity as you go. Don't worry about taking 5 hours to get halfway through such a small scenario; you're doing it normally. The game takes ages to play, but that's the beauty of it; it engrosses you so fully with all of its lush and many details that you can spend vast amounts of time with it.
Also, if you want to buy it get Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Tribes of the East. It has all the content of the base game and the first expansion, except for the campaigns. These campaigns can however be downloaded from here.
Shame you missed out on the 75% off sale. For $5.00 US, it's an amazing game.

Rearmed was one of my favorite games of last year. It's a shame that the new Bionic Commando game tanked pretty hard. I still haven't played that one. But I really enjoyed Bionic Commando Rearmed. I was a big fan of the original NES game.

Should I buy that?
What's it like?
If you like RPGs and can stomach playing through to the second chapter it's awesome.
You play as this guy
and you bash up bandits and monsters, or bash up bandits together with monsters
You solve human problems.

The mod is here in case anyone else is interested: http://wii.hl2world.com/
Also I guess I'd like an invitation into the steam group. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Okasvi

And also puppies and free games.
They already had many of those.
I am pretty sure it has been at $10 more than once.
It was some of the best 10 dollars I have spent. Bioshock still wins the award though at $5.
It went away after a while.
At worst case, for the last two years they've had a $10 Vampire sale on Halloween weekend. It's well worth $20, though.
