That's why I'm saving money, for the wedding! Except for the $5.99 I just spent at GOG.com because 2 games for that price? Fuck yeah!
I'm really not that poor, I am just trying not to spend too much money on stuff I don't need right now. I only skip lunch because I wake up at noon usually and I eat breakfast and dinner (because I don't take good care of myself, looool)
Although I did completely play through both Lego Star Wars and I played the Gamecube space one... Was that Republic Commando?
No.
No it wasn't.
Right you are, it was Rogue Leader, sounds about the same right...? right ?
So I've got some problems with KOTOR. So far I'm having a great time with it, but it doesn't support my native resolution. There's always the geeks over on Widescreengamingforum, and they've come up with this fix.
Sounds easy enough right? The problem is that I was crazy enough to actually start the game and looked around myself before searching the WSGF :? As a result, the little app won't work. I think that deleting all content and redownloading should fix this, but will I lose my savegames as a result? If I won't, where are they stored?
EDIT: Searching around a little more, it seems that I am screwed. Steam uses an encrypted.exe, and the only way to get around it is to hack it, violating Steam's ToS in the process

Eh, you bought the game. They did fix that same issue for Oblivion, and until they did it was ok to use a modified exe if I recall. It's not like what you're doing is going to be used to pirate the game and hand it out to all your friends.

I bought Farcry 2 on Steam today and am enjoying it, but damn if it doesn't crash often. It's the only game I've really had on this PC that crashes regularly, but I looked online and I guess it's a problem with a whole line of ATI cards for FC2. This game takes patience, and I'm going at it just fine, but it definitely blows losing 20 minutes of play because of the crashes/weird save system. Especially after you've picked up a bunch of diamonds and supplies in the mean time

Bought Champions Online through Steam this afternoon. After installing it, I'm not getting any sort of account management options if I right-click on CO and look at the Properties menu. Researching this a bit I see that others had the same problem, and that a number of them were able to take care of this by Verifying cached data in the Properties menu and re-starting Steam. No dice. I've done that multiple times, restarted Steam multiple times, restarted my computer twice, and even deleted all local content and reinstalled the game.
I've also not received any sort of email containing an account key of any kind, so I can't just create an account through the CO website either. This means I am completely unable to create an account and attempt to play the game.
Submitted a trouble ticket around 6.5 hours ago. Given the holiday tomorrow I'm not holding my breath on any sort of timely response here. It's slightly more frustrating because I would just go buy the game in-store somewhere instead, but that's a bad move without knowing I can get a refund on the Steam purchase first, and that also would probably not be resolvable prior to Tuesday.
I really like Steam, but the lack of easily contacted customer service when there is a problem is definitely a reason cited by some who stay away from it that I can understand.

And as far as I know it's Sunday.
Wasn't there a Steam patch specifically to address that issue a few days ago?

From what I've heard in the Champs thread, right-click on the game, click Go to Website, and it should pop up a screen with all of your account info plugged in already.
If not then go ahead with tech support. Also check in the Champs thread, Akinos might be able to help maybe.

Linking over to the website through the game info does not pop up anything with my account info already plugged in, unfortunately. Going to any of the registration screens from the main page that does open also doesn't result in any plugged in account info.
There is a thread about Steam problems stickied in the Champs forums, but the only advice there was what I'd already seen on the Steam forums about Verifying cached data and restarting Steam. Appears to work for most people with this issue. Sigh.
I do appreciate the mention of Akinos, who seems very friendly and helpful in the Champs thread, but I'm pretty sure the issue here is on Steam/Valve, and not Cryptic.

The beta was interesting, but IMO, not $50 interesting. The problem was that it seemed to require a lot of time to 'get' the customizations, but like most other shooters, in addition to it being a team objective game which frequently devolved into TDM

Strangely enough, I got a reply at 9:33am this morning. Which impressed me. The reply itself though: pretty standard cut-and-paste email support FAIL.
"Hello,
You can access you Champions online key by right-clicking the game in the My Games menu and choose 'Manage game account'.
Please let us know if you have any other issues registering your key. "
Which, you know, would be great if I hadn't specifically stated in my original ticket that there are no options to manage a game account available to me anywhere in the right-click menu for Champions Online.
So, um, points for responding on a holiday. Surpassed by a greater number of negative points for a response that clearly fails to acknowledge the actual problem I'm having though.

Its like 2-4 guys doing everything on steam. So quantity of tickets beats quality. If they kill 90% of the problem with canned responses on the first try, and the customer either goes away or it gets fixed, there golden and only have to wait for the people who it didnt get fixed for. It sucks but its a pretty reliable system.

Hey! I bought Evil Genius at the Steam Sale (Also Ghost House and Port Royal 2). I dig Evil Genius quite a bit as a little sandbox game.

Indeed. In any event, after a little more back and forth ("Oh, you must have an older version of Steam. Update and you'll have the menu." "Er, no. Steam tells me it is totally up-to-date" "... I'll talk to the devs.") I was given my Account Key via email and was then able to register an account through Cryptic's website.
Oh look - it's slightly-dodgy Polish free digital distribution time again! This time on Impulse, but the Steam thread's as good a place as any. From the people who brought you Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Speedball 2, comes Sins of a Solar Empire!
Register at http://www.cdaction.pl/seriale/ (Google translate helps, obviously), and choose honest-to-god legal CD keys for the games there. Only 2 work with digital distribution, however - Speedball 2 with Steam and Sins with Impulse. I can confirm that they both work, and that the wrath of the heavens hasn't yet descended on me (despite doing DMoM&M and Speedball months ago). Enjoy before they inevitably plug the leak!

No, I was pretty good playing the card game. It's not fixed.
Definitely at least the first one. I haven't played the second.
You start the second on board the ship, too.

Republic Commando is like an hour and a half long. You should play it during loading screens in KotOR.
Even if it doesn't cheat cardwise it does have an unfair advantage since you always get the cards first in KOTOR1.

Does the mod that puts in all the stuff that got left out alter the main executable? If not, it should work fine.
