One tip for Sins newcomers is to turn off the pirates. 'Cause they can seriously wreck your shit if you have no idea what you're doing, and they'll be attacking you constantly.
Otherwise it's not actually that hard to get into. Just think of it as a 4x instead of an RTS.
With pirates on, it seems like the AI opponents are able to snipe your bid, everytime. Frustrates the hell out of me.
Great game though, long range frigates for the win!

Heh, I still have the Speedball 2 key I got from that site a few months ago. Never got around to registering it. I'm not going to bother with Sins of a Solar Empire, though. It looks like a cool game, but I have no time whatsoever to play it and probably never will.
In Impulse, go to the top left menu icon, then select "Register a product", then hit "Add Registration", and paste the serial number in, and the game will be added to your account.
Sins at the moment feels like an awesome hybrid of Conquest: Frontier Wars, Empire At War, and Civilization. This feeling subject to change at any given moment.
Also, pirates suck.
Also also, what's the easiest way to add new themes into the game? I want a Brotherhood of Nod 'race logo'.
I am glad I got SoaSE for free, cause now that i've played it I don't think I care for it. It feels like a very very slow game from what i've played, mainly due to the slow trickle of resouces
It feels slow because you think it's an RTS
It's actually a turn based strategy game
I know what it is
DON'T TELL ME WHAT I THINK AAARRGHH

So I registered Sins last night with impulse and went to install it just now and it says my registartion is inavlid.
Quick guys I'm in a discussion. Does anyone have sales figures or graphs or whatever that show the correlation between released TF2 updates and increased sales? I know I've seen them before.

As far as I know, Valve have never given out any sales info from Steam other than the top 10 list.

I'd recommend putting it on Fast mode. I enjoy it when I don't want the game to take a very, very long time.

Yeah, they've basically said that each update gives them a boost in sales, number of people playing, and number of people sticking with the game, but I don't think they've ever released hard numbers for any of that.
They did however give rough percentages some time ago for one of the updates (or maybe it was in reference to the updates in general), and I think this was in correlation with Steam sales. I think this might have been in reference to the Scout update since IIRC that update came with a sale shortly before the time of this article:
Time to look at the sales of Team Fortress 2 to see the impact of the updates on revenue. Holy s#!%. The sales spike by huge amounts everytime there's a sale or major update. Steam sales went up 106% after a free update. Player minutes went up by 105%. Gifting has thrown a 71% sales increase. Surprisingly, sales from retail stores also went up by 28%. Finally, it saw 75% increase in new users.
Yup, I am home now and finally got to input the key I got this morning, it's invalid.
Sucks but I suppose there was not much I could do about it being I was at work all day and don't have remote desktop set up at home.
Stardock removed it from my "My Games" tab on Impulse. Ah well, at least I've got it installed on my desktop. On the plus side, having Impulse reminded me that I had Gal Civ II on my account.
Well, on less annoying news, D2D is having a 5th anniversary sale, this week is Ubisoft and strategy games. $5 for SC:CT, GRAW2, Civ4, Far Cry, Silent hunter 3, Call of Juarez, Empire eath gold, Railroads!, x-com complete bundle, or one of the later (crapy) settlers games. http://www.direct2drive.com/d2dturns5

Also, the GoG interplay sale ends today
Is GRAW 2 any good?
For $5? Definitely. If you can look pass all the bugs and piss poor AI team mates then yea the game definitely has some charm (some of the best muzzle flash effects in any game IMO - OMG!). Although if you're currently playing ArmA 2, the game will be very underwhelming in comparison.

Too bad most of them are region-locked except for Empire Earth and X-Com bundle. :?

Where do I enter it in Impulse? I know Steam has a place to enter retail keys, where do I do that in Impulse?
I KISS YOU!
I really didn't like KOTOR 2 so if that remains burried forever I'd be happy.
As excited I am for Batman I think I'll wait for a price reduction or a sale.

Sorry to all who did not get in soon enough. It made it to Slickdeals so I suppose too many people went crazy.
I KISS YOU!
I know what it is
Sad face?
edit: august, read the bottom post of the last page.
oh no, i wonder if they are canceling all the keys and those who waited too long to install it are out of luck.
If so there will be weeping tonight when I get home from work.
I KISS YOU!

It was probably a bunch of soccer moms, too, who didn't realize that there wasn't any way to flip it for profit.
I like the CONCEPT of SD and Fat Wallet if you're getting something for yourself, but almost everyone on those sites is in it to make money.

Eh, I guess that would've been funnier if there wasn't already a game actually named Montezuma's Revenge.
By the way I have a Speedball 2 key if someone wants it... :winky:
My blog post about it got around 7,500 views...
Sorry.
Yes there was a fairly popular thread on NeoGAF that linked to it.

Still in mine, for what that's worth.
Yeah, it's in my list but won't let me install it

Everything that Popcap puts out?
Hmm, no Mummy Maze Deluxe.
