I'll be logging on too. Dumb question: how do you challenge in the private league? It's like the challenge button is gone.

Actually, I don't know how to do this either. Since I have a dummy team in the league, how do I actually make my mans fight your mans? Do I need to be leagueless?

Both of your actual league teams should be in the public league. Where one challenges the other as you normally would. The dummy teams shouldn't ever do anything, really.

Is there one, single public league that all teams are in by default? Do we just PM each other when we notice that we're on and say, "Hey, what's your team name so I can find you in the public league list?"

on the left (bottom) side you can change your chat to be the private league

on the upper left you need to select your team (the one you are playing with - not the league one)
on the right side in the public league which you are in by default, you can sort by username and find your opponent and the team you want to challenge and challenge.

its a really stupid interface and it would be nice if you could right click on the guy's name and challenge and from there select teams but that's just me

Basically, do what the post above me says. Also, team names are all listed on the league wiki page, so find the right team name there.

Usually we meet up in the league channel, then chat a little, chose your team, go back in public and challange the other

Eep, my previous tale of rat-on-rat crime has nothing on the beating my pubbie wood elves just dished out to another wood elf team. My opponent had a potential 1-turn scorer in a level 6 catcher with 10 MA, Sprint, and I don't even remember what other horrors, so I considered my two 4 STR elves and opted for the somewhat unorthodox elf cage when he chose to kick off to me.

And then I made him my bitch.

I advanced my cage slowly. Very slowly. Eventually scoring a TD on my 8th turn with one of said 4 STR elves, giving him the points needed for level 3. Along the way I inflicted 4 casualties, and knocked another elf out, leaving him with 7 players on the field to my 11 for the following kick-off. Both of his catchers were out for the game, and the level 2 or 3 catcher ended up -1 STR. One line elf was badly hurt. And his only wardancer ended up -1 AV.

He took it like a champ, congratulating me and conceding at that point rather than risk any further brutality. But he now has a 1 STR catcher, and a 6 AV wardancer. Poor guy is going to be anally pillaged. He did have 250k in the bank though apparently, so at least he won't go into the next game with only 10 active players.

Well, shalmelo just brutalized me in a league game. Final score was 2-1. My team sustained 3 casualties and 9 KOs, and for most of the match it was something like 11 on 6 or 11 on 5 on the pitch.

The dice just hated me, and shalmelo capitalized well on all of my missed blocks, self-injuring dodges, and failed catches.

I will be playing my next match with 2 loners, and when I get my 2 line elves back one will be down to 3 AGI and the other down to 6 AV.

Yeah, that was pretty ugly. My rats played like orcs, and your woodies played like...I dunno, halflings? Hopefully the dice pendulum will swing the other way for you in your next game (when you're playing someone else). Thanks for the game.

I believe all the mutations have a graphical representation. Makes me curious about what my Minotaur will look like when I get enough SPP for tentacles.

Also: Hmm... looking at the various Blood Bowl teams that are not implemented, the Necromantic team seems pretty awesome. Were Wolves? Wights? Flesh Golems? Nice. Since the first expansion is pretty much going to be standard Undead and Dark Elves, I hope they go the extra mile and put in the two extra models to make the Necromantic team possible, though that's probably wishful thinking.

It's a purply spiky sort of tentacle that juts out of his lower back, almost like a tail. Not very impressive looking, but pretty nice anyway. Even though my Mino seems to lose on strength tests against Catcher and Skinks way too often.

    Today's Blood Bowl challenge!

    Here's the play.

This is one of the worst cages to face in the game, consisting of 6 Saurii and a Krox, with a Skink ball carrier.

You are Skaven, with a couple of Storm Vermin and 6 linemen. How do you position your players this turn to break this cage? Do you blitz anything?

The objectives are to stop the lizards from scoring in the next couple of turns, and if possible knock the ball loose for a Skaven TD.

Lords of Atlantis 2, The Southington Sandmen 0.

Pretty cool, he just gets this big tail-like tentacle with spikes that comes up over his shoulder.

I don't think all the mutations have a representation, I didn't notice much difference with disturbing presence for example.

Have they confirmed teams for the first expansion? Surely they'd do more than just 2, given how big the list of remaining teams is and how much overlap there is between some teams.

Flash Force! and Welkyn's Woodies just finished their match-

2-1 in FF's favor. Ketar played a good game and I consider myself fortunate to get the win. Also, he has the laziest Wardancer ever. (knocked out in like turn 1 and refused to wake up for the rest of the entire match)

No permament injuries to either team, and my very huggable Ogre now has guard! woot!

We also confirmed that the wood elves do indeed have the hottest cheerleaders in the game.

Give yourself some credit. Yeah, I had some bad luck on the injury rolls, but the fact is that I had so many people down because you kept hitting my guys over, and over, and over. Injuries were bound to happen. Couple that with your brilliant use of frenzy and it becomes clear why I had so few players left on the pitch.

You played a solid, steady game man. I got frustrated and played too sloppily at too many points. The only reason why I scored my touch-down was sheer luck. Good game though, you taught me some really valuable lessons.

Use a Linemen and a Blitzer on each bottom corner, use the last 4 linemen to cage their cage without actually entering their tackle zones, to make sure they cant move anywhere with the atrocious dodge rolls that Saurus get and to catch the skink if he tries to run for it.

Just played a game vs greebzilla. Had some lucky breaks finally, but still ended up with another death. Still had some terrible luck. By turn 3 I had 3 people out from injurys. Next game I am missing 2 people.

Final score was 3-3, some bad luck on both our last turns prevent either from getting a win, could have gone either way.

learned some new things in that game with Kafka...
like you can rush your team on a good kickoff roll into the receiving team and catch the damn ball yourself

elf vs elf was pretty funny since i tended to just straight up stand there and try to biff everyone.

ps. my treeman is a simpering bully
he's clocked maybe one person. every other time he's just pushed them around

voodoospork's The Famous ICF stomped all over my Wing and a Prayer XL, 2-0 in classic dwarf fashion.
a couple injuries to my linemen, but luckily the thrower and catcher were just knocked out of the game ;)
and by the end of the game I think I had 4 people left on the field, one of them being mr. sit on my duff treeman rooted to the middle of the field.

I think my guys spent most of the game napping on the ground. I had one chance at scoring early in the 2nd half, but I think my catcher had shaky hands due to fear of being hit and missed picking up the ball twice.

Yeah, we were both chasing the ball around down there for a few turns; it was silly as hell. I noticed that you didn't seem to be fully aware of how a lot of the block assists were working. Remember to check players for guard and that you can more easily set up at least even ST blocks by using guys to tie up any potential assisters that aren't using guard. I would also recommend taking at least one or two rerolls on pretty much any team. A well placed reroll or two could have turned that game around a couple of times by preventing early turnovers or letting you snatch up the ball more easily when you had the opportunity.

I had some pretty fun games today, and my team advanced quite a bit, so I'm pretty pleased. Everyone was a great sport. I'll try to get some more matches in tomorrow, maybe see if I can get one game played without sustaining injuries worse than badly hurt.
