I don't get that... An invisible wall appeared in a hallway.
It isn't like a door to zone somewhere isn't working. I am glad to see they are fixing it, but it really isn't simple to fix? I would love to see what the grand problem is. It has got to be pretty entertaining.

I believe it was introduced with the latest book, probably something to do with instance pathing or something, and if they fixed this it could pop up again.
s3rial I know nothing of caps other than my wife has played one up to 53 and is enjoying it and likes the healing, but also likes to get up there and hit things. I've seen groups still looking for captains, and I would worry about minnies not getting groups over captains if captains could main heal.

Seperate servers not recognizing the ability to communicate with each other? They're both still up, but you can't move from one to the other? o_O
I remember at one point eastern North Downs was down, and it was very much an 'invisible wall' situation. In this case the server isn't down... because GMs can still move you into the castle itself. Which is what leads me to the 'server communication issue' conclusion.
Regarding 16th hall. How hard do the bugs hit? On heavy armor I mean. Since it's a given that most guardians aren't going to have that sort of information outside of an 'oh ****' moment right before the inevitable wipe when they probably aren't paying attention.
Helegrod with 60s isnt that hard, as long as you have someone who can properly explain tactics.
Two friends from my kin solo'd the bear boss, by the way. :P Damned hunters
My problem was the lag. I was frozen in place for more than a minute or so, and was unable to contribute, so I had to drop. I guess Thorog has some part where you have to react within a split-second or somesuch, and I'm told I would've ended up wiping the whole raid had I stayed in there.
Just started this up again today. Was going through my bank and found out all the old festival recipes I stored at one point were worth 1g or more for the recipe. The corsair tunic you make from the recipe was going for 3g alone.
I've been noticing a new and exciting type of lag: Quest completion lag. My game runs absolutely great 99% from the time, but whenever I kill a quest target it lags out for about a second.
I forgot how much the game slumped when you hit the high 30s. I partially blame Book 4 (which has a great story, but the quests and the travelling are just painful to do), and I partially blame the lack of solo quests of a reasonable level. They really need to do a Bree-land style revamp for this part of the game, in which they add a few more quests to Evendim and the Trollshaws.
That said, am I missing something? Where should I be levelling at 39?
You must have leveled to 30 pre the new experience levels, because I shot past my 30s no problems, hell I got to 39 in little over a week of hardcore playing.
As far as where to be, if you have finished every quest in evendim save for that stupid elite trolls quest, I'd go to the trollshaws. There is a third questing area south of the ford of bruinen that is often overlooked as good questing for a level or two. Outside of that the beginning parts of angmar (the earthkin camp) and Misty mountains (gloins camp) also offer questing around that area.

Glad its not just me that gets this, I only get it in certain areas, usually when kiling humanoids, I figure its because I don't have the most ram.

I play one, and I've got WoW paladin envy. Like, really, really bad.
I'm bored to fucking tears with my captain right now. All my abilities just feel so insubstantial. My heals are, at best, about 1/3 of a minstrel's. My damage is really quite low. My legendary traits just aren't very good. Neither are my regular traits, come to think of it. And even though I have no problems finding groups, I feel like I could basically buff up my group and then go take a nap for all the good I do during the fight.
It's like I can't tank, can't heal, and can't DPS. But I'm not even a jack-of-all trades type: I suck at all three.
I never feel like I'm pulling my weight except on that odd occasion where I get to play the hero and turn what would've otherwise been a group wipe into a win. That's pretty awesome. But the number of times where I get to pop In Harm's Way, Last Stand, and then rez 4 or 5 people is minute.
I really feel like I wasted my time with this class. Every cool ability I have is either something I can't use on myself or has some absurdly long re-use timer attached to it.
EDIT: I was dinking around with runes and such today, and started looking at the numbers: I'm supposed to be the best buffing class in the game, but by best buffs are utterly impotent compared to runes and settings that any given character can have six of at once.
Anyone have some advice for a new elf RK? I really like the fire words, although I'm not a fan of the lightning. It reminds me too much if Diablo with it's erratic damage. I haven't toyed around with cold very much, but then again, I'm only level 14.
I get the gist of gearing for fate > will > vitality, and the only piece of gear I've seen so far with any other stat is tactical crit. What else should I be looking for on my way to the top?
I've been trying to scan the lotro wiki, but this government filter is a donkey kick to the baby-maker.
I can definitely feel your pain here. My main I'm playing is a Guardian, but Captain really appealed to me too, until I researched them. Captain to me looks like a class every group would want, but that nobody would ever want to play. Just like you said, it's like jack of all trades, but super weak jack who is only really there because of their buffs. It would be like playing an enhancement shaman in WoW if their personal DPS was equivalent to a holy paladin.
I'm sure there are people that love the class for what it is, but I personally think it would've made far more sense to give the captain good buffs, then give them stances for their secondary roles. One would be able to main heal but not do damage, one would be to do competitive dps, but not heal or use certain other abilities.
Nothing to do but reroll if you don't enjoy the class really.

Enhancement dps? My dps is always in the top 4.... I think I am going to pick this up and if the pa'ers are still around, check it out on that server.
I fail at grammar on the first try. What I was saying was the Captain is like what playing an enhancement Shaman would be like if the Shaman did the DPS of a Holy Paladin. As in, the class brings buffs but is not fun to play for the person behind the keyboard.
Yup, pretty much why my captain Caralia is stopped at 45; scaling post 50 is pretty much ass, and combined with lackluster (non-self targeting to boot) skills and traits...it might have benefit added up in a raid, but they forgot to make the player behind the character feel like their actions have some effect.
And it pretty much comes down to that; since a number of skills are enemy defeat-gated, it feels like you spend most of your time auto-attacking between healing (since crits on specials to open said gates are, at least at 45, still pretty rare). Maybe it's just too passive of a skill set for us who want to really push our own characters to the limit? Because it's the only char where I can tell within a hit or two of starting a fight solo whether I'm gonna win or lose. And that's probably the most aggravating part.

It does eventually get better, although I've given up on the Devastating Blow build. Even when I had my crit rate capped, a 15% chance of landing a hit for 1/3 to 1/2 of a mob's HP on a skill I could only use once per fight just wasn't worth it.
When I'm soloing, I use a two-handed axe with like 47 DPS, and I'm traited for War Cry (15%) which I try to keep up all the time. Between that and my mark healing me for 15% of my damage, plus a crit buff (+1067 if memory serves, which is ~4.5% at level 6), and my little bit of self-healing, I do okay. It's not a lot of damage or healing, but the combination of the two works well for soloing, for the most part. I don't handle multiple mobs all that well, but I can solo a level 60 elite (although it requires burning my hour-cooldown race heal, and it's a close fight).
I think where I really feel helpless is in a group. We're running instances where bosses hit for 1400 in an AoE, and my best AoE heal is like 1100. And it takes 45 seconds to heal all of that. And I can only use it once every minute and a half.
Where I really feel the pain is during boss fights, because I usually buff myself with Focus (ICPR) when grouped. That means I'm not landing any crits or getting any kills, so I'm effectively locked out of my on-defeat skills, except for Time of Need, which has a 20 minute cooldown. That really mucks up my effectiveness.
It's not an awful class, to be sure, but it just seems like a few small tweaks here and there could really make it into more than a buff bot and rez machine.
At Captain Stuff: I play a Captain as my main (Level 49) and I've never tried anything else (aside from a Level 7 Guardian that I use for storage). I think the key to enjoying the class is not knowing what you're missing. :P
I have major Warden envy every time I see one in action, though.

this is reasonable. :P
The only thing that is annoying is that most of our useful skills take so damned long to pull off.
I have a lot of fun on my 60 Captain. I see tons of requests for captains in GLFF. The problem I have is that I want to do HM runs. The only time I see anyone request something for an HM run, it is for a Minstrel. I really should find a kinship that runs them regularly.
With a captain to offer battle rezes, and buffs, and whatnot... also to spot heal, they very much make up for the deficiencies of a Runekeeper healing. Not to say that a *good* RK healer can't function without one, but the moment you graduate beyond oh **** moments is the moment you stopped doing the content.
Side note: I need more sparklies for my weapon, mine just softly glows, and most everybody else seems to have equipped Maglites.
God damn, what I wouldn't give for a Champ version of Endurance stance, or something that reduces the threat I do. (Other than Ebbing Ire.)
The more I think about it, the more I think Ardour would fit the bill for being re-made into one, since it's currently the odd duck out when it comes to stances. You wouldn't have the massive damage buff from Fervour, but you wouldn't pull aggro and explode.
They wouldn't even have to re-do the legacies either, the current +ardour damage ones would still work to give it a *slight* damage boost.

Fuck CD. Was trying to run through the slave pens to get that fucking horn everyone needs. Was in a full FS with 4x60s and a 54guardian and me as a 58warden and it still took us about an hour to get to the top of the pens. We killed his adds first, but then I accidentally pulled the boss while we weren't ready. So we reset the thing. someone runs back up and aggros the respawned adds. We all die.
I can try and make you some sometime, though I'm not sure how much bronze I have on me (though if your 20 you should be close to being able to use tier 2 stuff).
Shoot a message to Rokgrimlar the next time you see him on!
Anyone want to run GB a few times tonight? I've been there once and I loved it. The twin bosses were pretty cool, and the last one would definitely be tough without mini heals. Now that my RK has an AoE heal, it probably won't be so bad.
Anyway, hit me up on Landroval.
