A 160man raid on Sauron. Phase 7c is a bitch, but after that it is just a normal kite and spank fight while the healers off-heal the ring wraiths who have been locked in ice prisons by the burglars in phase 2f.

Just gotta watch out for lava streams and little burning hobbits.

I handed in a bug report for something I feel very strongly about. Please fill out similar reports on your server to right this wrong.

    Where: 15.7S, 54.9W Mirkwood

    Description:
In this camp there are two NPCs trying to help a sick horse. The Healer NPC of the camp is standing on the other side of the camp, not even trying to help.

Not to be too judgemental of an - undoubtly - hardworking NPC, but shouldn't he be trying to help a sick creature of good or reconsider his career path?

My suggestion is to move this NPC vendor to the sick horse and let him try and help.

    Steps to reproduce this problem:
1)Just move to the camp and see for yourself...

    2) that slacker is just standing there selling his potions while there's a horse dying.

Seriously, Turtle, WW, HoM, HoC, DN, Watcher wasn't enough end-game? I didn't even manage to enter DN and Watcher and never finished HM on any of those instances.

There's not a WoW-ish type endgame, which pisses some people off for some strange reason.

Yah ok, I come from Ye Goode Olde Days of WoW where I spent about as much time grinding materials and gold to pay for potions and repairs as I spent time playing with 39 other individuals in a raid.

That is also the reason i stopped playing WoW, as much fun as the raids were, so little fun the grind was (especially for a resto shaman). It didn't help that I was so busy with exams and shit that I didn't even have time to level a hunter to grind with.

With LOTRO it's all a lot more casual, all you need to do is run a few instances a dozen times to get radiance gear and make some potions once a month (seriously, I've got stacks and stacks of the stuff stashed away for rainy days) and I'm good to go.

For a chuckle, go to the LotRO forums and read some of the threads about repair costs. Some people have apparently been doing nothing but skirmishes, which are designed to be cash neutral, and discovering that one or two deaths mean that their cash supply has dwindled. So they go to the forums up in arms about it. There have been multiple posters who say, effectively, "I'm not a raider, so I don't have hundreds of gold just lying around."

Oh, and regarding the whole end-game business: I'm totally happy with the game, and despite already having a level 65, there are months worth of content still for me to do (and that's not including leveling up the alt brigade), and there will be Book patches soon enough (although, given the wrapping up of Vol II, I wonder if they'll still be called Book patches...). I gave the answer I did because the original asker might have been trolling (no post history in thread, wording of question).

LotRO has hella endgame compared to CoH (in moria it did anyways, I don't know yet what Mirkwood has). I'm not really clear on what more endgame someone might want.

Loads of bunny hopping on my server. :( And maybe it is for the titles, but it's still super annoying. Especially in 21st I couldn't read a thing on kinchat due to the emote spam.

Oh by the way, I am pretty pissed at the spawn rates in Mirkwood. It'll probably be fine in a few weeks when everyone is 65, but at the moment I just spend half my time running around for non-tagged mobs.

    So far main offenders:

    - orc camp north of mirk-eaves (with the 20k elites standing in front of 1 entrance
    - warg handlers in the camp east of the fortress on the hill in mirk-eaves
    - spiders and wolves in Dourstocks
    - Huorns in Drownholt
    - Swamp lights in Drownholt
    - Ruin Crows in Emyn Lûm

Had to group up with everyone else in the zone to even be able to get these quests done. =/

Also, the dynmap of Mirkwood can be found here http://dynmap.ruslotro.com/#Mirkwood It is far from complete, but that'll change soon enough.

Huorns in Drownholt is the worst I've seen so far. It seems that there's only 2 that spawn, on a 5 minute timer or so, yet the quest asks you to fight 5 of them. The others may at least just be overhunting, but that just outright demands sitting around waiting for spawns.

Bog lights though were really plentiful when I was around.

There are 4 that spawn, but their spawn rate is low.

The worst I've seen are the spiders in the Scuttledells, and that's not a spawn rate problem. That's a problem with the fact that there's a repeatable quest to collect 25 drops from spiders to turn in for the item needed to make the tier 3 crafted relic.

most of them are cloaked too, oh the joys of aimlessly running around hoping to run into one... :|

also, there's a tower east of the main hub that has a prereq to enter, (collect 5 elementals drops), I thought this would mean it'd be a solo instance or something, but no, inside it's just full of people as well. at least the respawn rate of the sorcerers is fast.

I don't really know any good online guides. If you just start then the best is to join some kin and people will help you. If you have problems, it's best to ask in kin chat, or global channel. Each server has player run global looking for fellowship channel where you can ask for advice. On Landroval just type /joinchannel glff and you are in. Most people will answer your questions, you rarely see dumb answers. Just make sure to avoid some topics like "Aren't RKs against the lore?", "WOW sucks", "What would Bible MMO look like?" etc. If you are in some newbie zone then /advice channel is also good.

    My advices to new players:
    - For first character it is best to get Explorer vocation and sell raw materials on AH. You should never run out of money.

    - Pay attention to progress of you class deeds. Class traits you get from the class deeds are really useful and help to adjust your character to your play style.

    - Other traits are less important, and unless you know which traits you want to use, you may skip them. Especially killing deeds, which take forever to complete. Early deeds (kill 60, then another 120) are quite easy, but once you have to kill 500 mobs, it gets boring. I would especially skip mid-level killing deeds (in Esteldin, Angmar, Misty Mountains) that require killing elite mobs. Later zones, Moria especially, has easier deeds to finish.

    - At level 45 or so, go to Rivendell and do prologue for Volume 2 epic quest. Later you can go continue Volume 2 Epic quest and get your legendary items.

    - Questing gives the most XP and allows for fastest leveling.

Strongly disagree. The traits that increase morale, increase stats, and decrease incoming damage are awesome, and are especially helpful when leveling. A lot of people get in the habit of skipping them, then coming back when the mobs are grey to wipe them out more efficiently. This is okay for some traits, where you kinda have to go out of your way to find them, but if killing goblins increases your Valour, then for the love of pete kill those goblins you run by. They drop money in cash and trash form, they give you xp, and it probably only took you 30 seconds.

That said, go hit burgzerg, figure out which traits are useful to you, and see which ones you can put off 'til you hit later zones, and which ones you should probably go ahead and work on now.

You are probably right Simon. I'm just bitter after working on traits on my alt guardian. Killed 440 wolfs in Trollshaws, moved to Evendim to kill 440 Kerrigrans (sp?), and still have 400+ worms in Trollshaws to kill. It's really boring......

Well, if nothing else, the mobs you kill in skirmishes count towards slayer deeds in that area. I've gotten through the Ered Luin wolf and brigand deeds just by running Gondamon a couple times.

Probably not what you meant, though.

You're wrong. Lifetimers had to shell out $20 for it. The ones who got it for free are those who preordered the Adventurer's Pack (shared storage through your vault and 2 extra character slots), or those on a multi-month payment plan.

All classes are easy to solo with, but something with a big shield or heavy armour is going to go a long way in solo'ing some fellowship quests.

Trade skills are pretty important, if only to make mad cash with. Full stacks of raw materials (even low level stuff) can net you a lot of silver and gold. So if youre not interested in crafting then pick explorer and use mining and foresting to pick up crafting materials.
