    If someone wants to gripe about alt-text not being posted, they can go do the damn site and view it themselves. The end.

    That xkcd, while not great, is still much better than most other xkcd's.

    I'm assuming the motorcyclist in McNinja is Dark Smoke Puncher? Is he old enough to drive? Is he about to get a stern talking to?

    Because lots of people don't give a shit about them? This is the comic thread, not the alt-text thread.

    Why post a comic if you don't post the next, related comic? Why post a comic if you don't post the related news post? Why do anything if you don't do everything?

    It's like you aren't even trying here. You dont post the next comic because it isn't an integral part of the fucking comic you are posting. The news post is fine but that is something much longer

    Jesus fucking christ it is one line of text to copy and paste. It isn't that fucking hard. Why read the webcomic thread at all if you are just going to have to go read all those sites anyway.

    And I'm not saying people need to go through all that dinosaurs comic bullshit. I mean comics like smbc and achewood, where it is a big part of the joke.

    If you're going to go to the trouble of posting a comic, I honestly don't see the big deal about taking the extra .5 seconds to post the alt-text, but whatever...

    If a comic needs alt-text to make it relevant or funny, then it's probably not a very good comic anyway sooooooo...

    most of the comics posted here have alt text and are plenty funny without it

    it's just that the alt text a lot of times really enhances the joke

    Well yeah, SMBC has built a formula around it, so I don't even really consider that "alt-text".

    And of course alt-text can be funny or poignant in relation to the comic itself, I'm just saying that the absence of it should not in any way detract from the enjoyment of the comic if they're doing it right.

    I also think NOT posting the alt-text if you're already going to the trouble of posting the comic itself is sort of... lazy.

    Guys,

    I am going to go make a webcomic that is nothing but alt-text.

    Each comic will be an image with the day written on it, and the entirety of the content will be hidden in various places. New places, every comic! Maybe it will be in the image title, maybe in the name of the file, perhaps hidden behind an unrelated page, or data stored in a one-bit offset in the image itself.

    It will be like a easter egg hunt, every comic!

    Only I'd be terrible at webcomics and all the effort wouldn't be worth it. But that's okay, because COGNITIVE DISSONANCE!
