This shading is actually a two-color layer for each character (dark gray and light gray) applied as a multiplier to the color flat layer below.
The colors are still temporary, but the shading is heading towards final. As a note: the magic ape-genie's mouth is going to be glowing (it'll be yellow/orange, not red), which is why the light emanates from there.

Looks good. I might emphasizes that the ape is a genie (I didn't notice 'till I read your post) by making the lamp larger (which will screw the scale with the human figures I know) or perhaps making it a very shiny gold? Something to draw attention to it? Maybe a gradient transparency for his gaseous lower half?
[edit] Also, looking at the larger versions, the guy's facial expression is pretty hard to read at any resolution aside from the largest. Little more life in the eyes of the robot maybe too. Pupils would go a long way, and his robo-mouth could be better defined. Because it's so far down his torso it doesn't immediately register as a mouth.
That robot seems unperturbed, or maybe just slightly irritated, at being punched through the torso. If this is a fatal blow, I might have drawn him in a more... dying pose. Maybe head thrown back, mouth open? If he's going to shrug the damage off then it's perfect.
Guitar seems fine to me, though the robot's hand on the guitar's neck could use some refining.
Also, and maybe it's because the bottom of the image is cropped off, but the dude's legs make it look like he's crouched, hovering in midair, more than performing a flying attack. I might have drawn his right leg straight, angled behind him to suggest a springing jump motion. Depending on the length of his hair you might also have it trailing behind him a bit to suggest wind or motion.
Great facial expression. It certainly conveys a furious, focused attack, and I like the robot's chest shrapnel, though when you do shading you might suggest a bit of an indentation as well. That would make it feel a bit more like metal and a bit less brittle.
you got slimer's color wrong, he's supposed to be blue
Kewop: after juggling sculpting programs like a juggler juggles jugs, I've decided to go with Mudbox. The interface is the simplest to understand and the texturing is easier to use, and the sculpting tools seem robust enough to do anything ZBrush can do. I've can't unwrap a UVW map to save my life, though
Kazhiim: I've never used Mudbox, so I'll take your word for it. As far as UVing goes, it just takes practice and you'll learn over time what to do and what not to do. The rule stand that is you can unwrap a hand so that it's sewn by the thumb or pinky with even UV space, you should be able to unwrap anything. I say practive on some of those Zbrush test male models. Just load one up and export it out to an OBJ. Hell, even practice on the dog that could help.
tl:dr a lot of practice.

It was bluntly pointed out to me in my tattoo thread that if I have to time to draw, I have time to practice. So...thats all I'm gonna do. Practice. Get my shit down. I'm gonna start with lips and eyes. If this isn't the place to post my random crap everyone once in a while, tell me to get lost. Anyway....
you have a case of the football eyes. the eye is round and eyelids conform to it's shape, also the upper and lower eyelids are different from one another, like this

I've always been really bad about drawing what I think I see instead of what I see, and I think my art skills have been at a ceiling for a long time because of it. I tried something different with this one.

You lost me.
Anyhoo, to lazy to scan.
This happens at the end of ch4 of my comic. Dude punches a robot in the heart.
I can't draw guitars for shit sandwiches.

and here's a youtube turntable. It's pretty low quality. I need to figure out the best export options for youtube.

cherry blossoms are terrifying to draw. hence why I haven't drawn them yet.
THIS IS WHAT I WANT

So, more like this?
I have no idea what to do. Give it scales? Cyborg parts? Clown makeup? HELP
I dont know if this qualifies as a doodle, but i got really bored at my friends lan party and did this. (mouse only)
You mean the thing on his shirt? It is most certainly supposed to be green. Its green in the comic.
We're talking about Slimer from Ghostbusters, right? Because he's definitely green.
You must be conducting some kind of experiment. The only blue in this picture is the kind that was mixed with yellow to make green.
I like number 2 except for the crazy over-thong thing. Change the shirt to add the underboob from 3, and you have a winner.
Thanks everyone, under boob is awesome. I will take #2 and fix it up.

How's this design look so far? Is she still falling over, or is the pose working?
