Well it's pretty massive, so that's one thing. To experience all Disneyworld has to offer you have to visit a bunch of individual parks which each stand on their own.
There's Epcot, which is more science oriented. Then the Safari/Zoo place. The waterslides and of course Disneyland itself.
They are all mostly a short bus ride from each other, but make sure you give yourself enough time to take it all in.
They have a slow moving "river" which flows around the entire thing, and you can just grab a tube and float for an hour through caves and screeming children and hot girls (or boys)...

Philharmonic was my favorite thing at Disneyland, I think...
They also had the 3D bugs life adventure, and on the seats they have these little prods that poke up to give the illusion that bugs are trying to grab your butt or something.
I went to Disneyland with my brother a few weeks ago. His comment was that Disneyworld was very hot and humid and it was lot easier walking around in Disneyland.
NAC: Disney* is pretty boss and you should check one out.

Also right now is a terrible time to visit FL since it's been crazy thunderstorms the past week or so since it's summer, at least in the evenings.
Wear plenty of sunscreen, and a pair of comfortable shoes cause there's a lot of walking. Use FastPasses to plan for ride with long waits.
