Dunno, it's just something I heard somewhere; no idea if it was valid or not. Seems like something they should be doing considering the quality of the music.

Hey guys, I'm running things on a pretty low spec machine, only got 1gb of ram (I know, I'm sorry) and it's taking years to get into a game and then I get freezes everytime i hear a new sound or see a new model. I know it's because of my lack of ram but I don't suffer in CS:S. Is there a setting in a config file anywhere that could help?

It depends on what you found boring about CS I suppose

This isn't like CS at all though, aside from the whole "players are fragile and have one life per round" thing

The one life thing may very well be it. In TF2, one of the more interesting parts for me is reacting to your own death, trying to figure out how that changes things and how to redeploy yourself after respawning. In CS, all you can do is take notes and try to do better next round.

I also kinda dislike the asthetic of it, everything looked completely generic.

The only real complaint I have is that the weapons need more explanation as to what is good and what isn't. Also, the description text needs to be in a more contrasting color.

My rig would shake like Michael J. Fox on the skyscraper map until I turned off AA completely, for some reason. Try disabling it temporarily and see if that fixes the issue.

I can run TF2/L4D at 4xAA/16xAF but apparentrey NeoTokyo isn't as Japanese as it claims, or it would be smaller and more efficient than those two bloated American games. :P

My recent glee-filled activity is to set a detpack on the ghost and wait for the enemy team to come pick it up

On the map with the armored suits and the hangars with the spider robots, I killed about 5 or 6 guys with the initial detpack blast as they picked up the ghost and was able to finish off the other 3 or 4. It was so awesome

On the weapon select screen there are small (tiny) charts that show weapon stats on each weapon's picture. You can kind of make them out.

I think all you really need to know is that nearly every weapon has 2 tiers, except for sub machine guns which only have 1. Most of the guns have suppressed variations.

    Assault Rifles
    Tier 1 ZR68C / ZR68S (suppressed variant)
    Tier 2 MX5 / MXS5 (suppressed variant)

    Rifles/Support Weapon
    T1 M41
    T2 PZ252

    Submachine Gun
    Tier 1 SRM7 / SRMS7 (suppressed variant)
    Tier 1 NP721 J/ NP721S (supressed varient)

    Sniper Rifle
    Tier 1 ZR68L
    Tier 1 M41L
    Tier 2 BP308

    Shotgun
    Tier 1 Supa7
Tier 2 AA13 Auto Shotty of Death

Also I am warming up to the shotgun. Supports can take a few hits which is the reason for it's poor reputation, but it tears up Recons and Assaults nicely. Last night Woggle and I took out 3 of the other team with a combo shotty + assault rifle. Then Olivaw had his rambo moment :(

Right well I managed to get myself another stick of 512 ram so I'm now running a HUGE 1.5gb of ram and it's helped the loading times. Now I've just gotta completely nuke my graphics settings and figure why every other game I get Warning: Connection Error and get booted.

Then maybe finally I can start to enjoy this game :)

Well, NT isn't generic like Counterstrike, so the aesthetic thing won't be a problem. You will have to resort to "taking notes and trying to do better" next round, though. It requires even more "trying to figure out how that changes things and how to redeploy yourself after respawning" than TF2 does, though, so maybe you'll like it. I mean, it's free. Why not try it?

Okay so here's the one technical issue I've had consistently with this game: why the hell does it take so long to join a server?

With TF2 I take like thirty seconds tops, with this game it's more like a couple minutes of hanging on the "Retrieving Server Info..." box before it finally goes "Sending client info..." I mean what the hell

All mods do that. It's weird but you have to get the lighting and shit from the server, to confirm you ain't wallhackan/using a fucked up map.
