Would like to make this clear. I have been trying to inform people of this and it probably needs to be put in the op. If you kill a teammate after the round the game can get confused and think that player is dead going into the next round. I think this has to do with the game taking a long time transfering you into spectator when you die. The game never transfers you from dead to alive and you get stuck in spectator unable to move. This also has the effect of making the game not end if you entire team is killed. The player is stuck in a limbo and the game does not recognize that he is dead or alive.
Just tried this out, and I can safely say I consider Dystopia to be far funner then this to me.
Wonder when that'll get noticed again.
Did you give it more than 10 minutes?
I found the learning curve to seem extensive, but give it a day or two, you'll love the game.
Eh, I gave it about an hour to tempt me, and it did, but it just mostly involved me dying by unseen enemies from afar or wandering the map and finding out my team won three minutes after the round started.

The maps are pretty large confusing, you're not going to learn them in like 2 rounds the way you would with dust, or office, or any map really in CSS. Once you know the maps though, getting shot by unseen enemies happens a lot less often.
Is there any way to deal with smoke grenades? Support can throw them and see through them. Whenever there's smoke I feel so helpless.
Yea don't go near them. lawl, but seriously, just get around a corner and spam it for a bit then take off. If the smoke doesn't scare you, the big armor dude with millions of health will.
Most support though will just use it to let them travel cause they're fat and slow, but it also works great to blind enemies in a small area.
My suggestion is to just run or if you're assault, you can still see movement through it with the movement vision thingy, so maybe fight if you think you have a chance. I usually toss a nade in the middle of them, then start firing away, but the support will have the upper hand with thermal.
I love the fuck out of CS but this is just such an unenjoyable game to me.
Same here. Going to give it a few more plays to win me over/wait for updates, but right now it's just way too 'clunky' and not-fun for me to play with any regularity.
Thanks STEAM, I wanted you to crash when I was finally starting to get the hang of things and being able to use something more than "Shit Basic Gun"
Also it's enjoyable being on the other end of the bullshit kills for once, a Recon was plinking away at me while cloaked. Turned, made one spray with the MX5, boom headshot.

Looking for a DX:HR OnLive code for my kid brother.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
The server will probably stay empty till the TF2 tourny is over. I tried playing a pub ....D:. Good luck finding one where people actually stick together and follow directions.
Does it take anyone else a LOOOOOONG time to load up a game once you connect to a server? As in multiple minutes long?
Other source games always seemed to have the worst initial loading time for me but this one pushes it up to a whole new level during its receiving server information part. My hard drive goes crazy during that time period as well.
Okay so here's the one technical issue I've had consistently with this game: why the hell does it take so long to join a server?
With TF2 I take like thirty seconds tops, with this game it's more like a couple minutes of hanging on the "Retrieving Server Info..." box before it finally goes "Sending client info..." I mean what the hell
oh man, i thought i was the only one with this.
although i'm not sure if it takes longer than 2 minutes.

I just had some great matches with good teamwork and fun guys on the Convictgaming.com server. It seems like it's well administrated, every time I've hit it up, it's been fun. If you are up for a match and the PA server is dead that's not a bad place to try a game or two.

I was gonna come in here and reccomend those three servers
I've been playing there and it's been awesome. People coordinate, talk on mics, the rules are pretty rad. I've been hanging around there and haven't gotten frustrated enough to retreat to the PA server yet, actually

I actually sat down and played long enough to get past the frustrating phase and now I love this mod.

For a first release the mod is tits.
Robo-tits.
I don't think I've seen combat this deliberate since I used to play the Infiltration mod on the original UT. I'm even getting over wishing for Ironsights. Those can obscure much of the screen. Especially with some of the gun models these guys have come up with. With the cloaking and vision modes the extra visual perception is nice.

Speaking of ironsights and visionmodes/cloaking, it would be very hard to use thermal vision, motion vision, or cloaking and ironsights at the same time. With cloak they are invisible, with thermal and motion vision, they are usually blobs of color

But that does explain why I'm like the third person in the server on map change and half the people playing miss the first round.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Wonder when that'll get noticed again.

Have fun playing Dystopia, then.
I do admit it's a nice variant though.
It's like a stressful metal gear online
I've seen you like once in the server.
You will like it. Go support and M41 first.
I mean, fuck, the game just came out like 3 days ago.
edit: i will admit i didn't like it nearly as much as I do now. Give it a few maps and switch classes/guns.

It's because I'm better at it than you, isn't it

Ok I just noticed this post, what the fuck Flippy. We get it, you don't think its fun.
You aren't gonna convince me that I don't like it. Good lord. You're terrible.

I really like the Support class; I'm pretty terrible at the stealth classes. :x
Nickname's jin, hope to see some of you online tonight!
Guess I'll hit up some pubs and check back later.
Whyyyyyy

Is this normal?
I KISS YOU!

We said this tons in game, but you rock at this game
