There was a sequel to Nocturne? I don't remember a sequel to Nocturne.
There wasn't. There's Nocturne, Nocturne Maniacs which is the director's cut with fiends and the labyrinth (the version everyone else got), and there's Nocturne Chronicles or something which is the same as Maniacs except Raidou replaces Dante.

The Amala in Chronicles must be extremely boring.
Enter the fourth kalpa:
"....."
"....."
"....."
"Raidou, you should kill him."
"....."
It is, more or less, a find and replace "Dante" with "Raidou Kuzunoha"

Except Raidou has no character, making the Amala encounters extremely dull(unless they revised them appropriately, like with Narumi trying to eat some toast at the entrance).
No, Raidou is pretty badass. Gouto does all the talking for him. After the encounter in the labyrinth, he does that cool thing where he jumps back and starts chanting while a bunch of tubes start to slowly unscrew.

Yeah, the real disappointment is that pretty much all of his animations are just Dante's animations, but with a demon added in somehow. I think for Showtime a demon delivers the final slash.
Picked up Devil Survivor on a whim today. Have mixed feelings about it, but the start was appropriatly forboding, so that's promising. Now if only I could destroy Yusuzu.. she is... awful...
It's not a SMT game if the demon's aren't berserk monsters, humans aren't bastards, and God isn't a massive dick.

I am only a few days in, but its becoming increasingly clear that even if the legion of monsters doesn't kill us all, the whole city and everyone in it is about to go Lord of the Goddam Flies.
Here in Day One, I feel powerless to make a coherent team. All three of my units have massive weaknesses and over the three of them I just barely have the elemental spectrum covered offensively.
I guess this is the problem with playing an entry in a series where you've beaten multiple titles. You get used to having a tighter, more powerful standing.
That's a great deal, and everyone who doesn't have the games should take advantage of it. I paid a ton of cash for DDS1 and Nocturne, as I got both of them before the reprints.

Well, much like any other SMT game, your teams start out relatively weak, with very few abilities to employ, but gradually advances to the point where you're well prepared for most encounters straight. Of course, this being SMT, you can't be prepared for everything on the fly and will need to adjust your strategy according to the battle you are faced with. A bit of a tip: when you begin to increase your demon roster and have fusion available to combine them, try to keep at least a couple of spares in reserve. You can be more flexible in your strategies and will have backup demons that can be summoned, should one of your other demons fall in combat.
ug, why don't they have the same deal on amazon.ca
Amazon.ca is garbage compared to the US version - we dont get ANYTHING
Any place we can get the reprints in Canada?

I'd construct a situation such that everyone died at the exact same moment so that we could attack whatever afterlife there happens to be en masse and so take it over and create a perfect unending afterlife existence. Also, everyone who wanted one would have an afterlife pony.
I don't know if you have any gamebuzzes near you, but I went to two different ones a few weeks back and they both had multiple copies of DDS1. No Nocturne or DDS2 though.
So. The extra bosses in DDS 1 are extremely easy it turns out. I have yet to kill them all but today I mastered Null Death and Null Expel and tore through 4 more of them in around an hour and a half. Now I just have the last Beast left. Or...I think thats it. Huang Long I think hes called. I technically have two super bosses left but Im not on hard and therefore no Demi-fiend. So just the last Beast that you can fight in the tower. But before I fight him Im going to get Null Ailments on everyone. I might learn Null Attack just so I can laugh while Allmighty is the only thing that can possibly hurt me but I dont know. That could take forever and I dont have much time. I get out of work at 8 so Ill start my training then. Exciting. Then I can finally beat the game and move onto DDS 2!....AGAIN!

Man...why do all the good deals have to appear when I'm broke?

Yoshitsune steps in for Showtime, Moh Shuvuu heals, and another demon that I can't remember does a full-party Electric attack.

I'm just playing through the almost post-game myself and the bosses haven't been nearly as hard as I've been expecting either. It seems like 1 warm up to find out what to null and attack with is all that's needed to take the second attempt without much trouble at all.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

I never had a problem with it on enemies. My MC alone was capable of doing about 200 a hit with the dances. It was really handy up until Day 6 for me, though.

Oh god I know. When I fought them while I was still weak they scared the shit out of me. Then I trained until I got Null Death and Null Expel and killed Beelzebub Fly and went back through just destroying all of the bosses in a matter of minutes. It was sad and hilarious at the same time.
I really didnt think most of the extra bosses could be beat by a simple "oh he uses ice" *absorb ice*
Oh she uses fire *absorb fire*
Oh he uses physical *repel physical*
I mean really. Come on. Thats really as simple as it was. And even Beelzebub was a goddamn joke and a half once I got Null Death. And even before I got Null death I could take him down to red HP and get in like 5 rounds of attacks before he used Death Flies. It was crazy.
But this last guy sounds like a dickhead. Which is why I want Null Ailments and maybe Null Physical.
Also - Drake - Dont you be laughin boy. Dont you be laughin. I kills Huang! I swears it I will!

This is why I took the neutral path for SMT I and II. Both sides were just such assholes, they all had to die.
Nocturne having multiple paths is intriguing. I'm not sure what I'll do. I mean other than play it one hour a week.

You just made me buy both Digital Devil Sagas. And I'm not even done with Nocturne.
Hey, this does include DDS2, they must have updated that this morning. This is $90 for all 3, new

They must have just changed it an hour ago because DDS2 wasn't part of that deal when I bought it :x

I almost did. I wanted to so badly, but I talked myself out of it and then order Nocturne by itself.

Motherfucker. That would have been so useful to know earlier. At least I'm only on day 2.
