Ok well a friend of mine kept prodding me that since I enjoyed Guilty Gear so much that'll I'll love this, so I finally broke down and bought the 360 version. And I Love It.

Spent the night playing through all the stories to get a feel for each character (plus the story wasn't half bad in a crazy wth anime kind of way) and the true ending. At this point I think I'm digging Noel, Boobie Lady, and Nu; but now I have to really learn the game and see how I can play with the 3 of them.

Apparently Noel is kind of hated online because of drive spamming noobs or something, so before I go online I need to work on not portraying that stereotype. How does arcade and time attack fare for testing your mettle and actually learning characters compared to the steamroll fest that story mode felt? I figure I just want to actually get a decent idea how to play those 3 characters instead of going online and flailing around.

Time attack will probably not help much in preparing you to play against real humans. I would say just go online and don't bother caring if you look like a spamming noob. And if you take beatings for it, it'll just help you see what not to do.

Also, you should watch the bonus DVD, it has character strats and is very useful.

I actually don't see a lot of Noel players online. Jin however...yeah, fuck that guy.

Noel was popular the first week, until people found a way to counter her D spam and you had to actually get good with her. I guess all the Noel players moved on V-13...I mean all you need with her is backdash and D and you're pro status. 8-)

so i have an amazing replay.

i was playing ragna against another dude's ragna, because i wanted to show him just how awful it was to play against a scrubby ragna. so we are having this terrible scrubby match.

and we charge each other, and we meet in the middle, and we both dragon punch. it clashes. and we both dragon punch again. it clashes. this happens a total of four times, the last one in mid-air, before i finally throw out the faster one that beats his.

    it was amazing.

Arakune's real name is Dr. Han. He was a very introverted and reclusive guy, but he worked with Litchi a lot. He got all Faustian and started studying evil magic, turning himself into...that. He has no face, so he made that mask. Litchi cares about Han alot, and also blames herself for neglecting the signs that Han was losing it. She wants to change him back to normal without killing him.

They were mostly "okay". As in they know one or two BnBs. They weren't too hard.

There was one who was really good though. The things a good rachel can do drives me crazy.

I was also losing to couple of drive spamming noels and spammy jins, but it was 4 am when I played. :P

Met one noel player who kept spamming her gun slide move. It was pretty funny to dash back and sword her in the face.

Even if you blocked the gun slide move, it is punishable, not sure about Nu, but Noel can counter with 2B, 2C, gun slide, big combo. I won't be surprise people are discovering Rachel, her BnB is too easy BBCDC -> super and rape guard meter wth? Spamable projectiles + wind to push you back, great mobility, and have one of the better anti air in the game.

Oh hippy you should really learn how to TK Nu's 2369D, I faced one Nu that mix up between 5DD6DD 236D or 2369D, totally ruined me, there are no way in hell you can block that crap with reaction. You can also use that during the stupid long super for high/low mix up.

Anyone on PSN want to create a chat room in PSN so people can meet up and find matches for BB instead of keep MSG'ing each other? Chat Room in PSN stay in the server and your chat list forever until you deleted it, Neogaf had one and it is very easy to find people to play with.

I had to hit her 4-5 times before she stopped.

I'm working on my tiger knee inputs, but it's still hard for me to implement. I'm working on it though. Great thing about that is that you can mix it up with 236DC if they guess and block high and than 3C them.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

This is because all damage in Blazblue prorates in combos - meaning that each hit does 90 or 80 or 70 percent etc of normal damage, and the next does 80 percent of that, etc (or something along those lines).

Tell that to Nu, damn robot hussie. :x
I don't know if it works exactly the same way in Blazblue, but in SF4, scaling is calculated per move, not per hit. A punch comboed into Seth's 17-hit kick move which stuns, followed up by another punch into 17-hit kick move will implement the exact same scaling percentages as punch, 1-hit shoryuken, stun, punch, 1-hit shoryuken. Nu's multi-hitting blade moves would then still count as one attack apiece.

you don't need to superjump cancel, normal jump cancel should work
also, for dash canceling i constantly tap in the direction i want after the move comes out. for jump canceling i double tap and then hold it in the direction

After you double tap for dash, you dont need to hold run. The initial dash puts you in the exact distance you need for 5C
i didn't say to hold run
the reason why i tap so much is so i dash cancel as soon as possible so the 5C connects

Doing combos to quickly happens to me alot in matches. It's something about seeing an opportunity, then executing it. I think a little too much, which either becomes indecision, losing out on free damage, or pure reflex where my fingers move just a little bit too quickly. A move gets skipped and the combo becomes... not... a combo.

Man, I was playing Taokaka against a rush-down Ragna and hell if I knew what to do about him. The thing that kept on getting me was that it seems his standing A (or B? I'm not sure) comes out stupid fast and can lead into a pretty damaging combo, and I basically couldn't do anything because it matched all my As in speed and Tao's standing B has shit range. I basically kept getting barrier broken because he would not stop attacking me, ever, and I could never find an opening that didn't get my ass terribly punished. Out of the 10 or so matches I played I only managed to scrape out a few rounds, and I ended up losing all of the matches.

His B is slower than most of Taos moves, but its got MUCH more range. Hell his standing C can hit from where people stand at the beginning of the match and is not too slow.

Most Ragna combos end with either Hells Fang or the overhead special (cant remember its name) and both are horribly unsafe. I can only get away with Hells Fang if I only do the first part and thier waiting to block the second hit makes it safe, or gives me a freetard throw.

I would say if you are blocking Barrier block till hells fang then se taos D to get in there. Your moves are faster you just need to get close enough.

Ragna only has 2 overheads anyway - A kick that is relatively easy to see coming (if you see any kind of kick coming, its the overhead) and that special that does the arcing kick into the claw like thing. Which is even less safe than Hells Fang and punishable to hell and back

Edit : Oh hi Drag, nice seeing you in ranked.

You awesome Jin was followed by a shitty jin who just couldn't figure out why I was punishing his ice car wakeup every time.
