Pyros need to realize that the cart dispenser replenishes your ammo faster than you can use it, even if you're flaming and blowing the whole time. I see too many pyros just sitting there when they should really be doing their job and type +attack into the console.
Heavies too to a lesser extent, but at least they have the excuse of being slowed down.
This. I actually do this but I sit at the back of the cart walking backwards flaming towards any incoming spies. It works rather well.

No, I am not really communist. Yes, it is weird that I use this name.
Like last night, when I observed that patient spies will always and unerringly find my back right before I'm about to blow my uber load
Yeah, I still don't know how spies do that. Everybody always knows when I'm behind them.
I know. It's also maddening how they seem to be able to decloak and kill you instantly. When I hit decloak, the person always seems to turn and fuck me up.
I still don't quite get the sniper SMG hate. I think the gun is fantastic at mid-range, and even some long, just to hit enemies that are lower on health. It really is a great gun, and well balanced.

Actually, he specifically referred to the page with all the weird Independence Day off topic pictures. He just happened to have closed the thread in the middle of the discussion of Billy Mitchell's haxoring. You may drama that all you want.
Edit: I can't believe TF2 threads have a special place in the rules. Good job guys.

Had an experience the other night confirming my suspicions of the totally random nature of effective spying. I'm coming up to our second point on Well when I get hit out of nowhere and the damage indicator points straight behind me. The enemy is trying to push us off their second point so I have no idea what the hell just hit me. I turn around and there is a spy chasing me who just stabbed me directly in the back and nothing happened.
To the spy's credit, he was confused for no more than a moment before attempting to escape. If our positions had been reversed, my rage would have been a physical object. I wasn't even playing spy and that event made me not even consider playing the class for the rest of the night. I mean, this guy walked across the map, planted himself perfectly, had a perfect shot, and the game just said "nah" and denied him the backstab.
I would like Valve to release a unlockable spy knife that just works.

It's a common misconception that drama closes threads, but it's really just the off topic banter. If we really crave that sort of freedom we should move to the SE++ thread.
So yea, last night on cp_well, Cogniswhatever decided to rjump over the train, except he found my arrow in his head before he landed. It was pretty much the best huntsman shot that is and ever shall be.
Replacement Medigun for the Medic. Has a cone-shaped hatch at the end that can reform to look like a funnel or a nozzle. Unlike the regular Medigun, the Gesundeib can be attached to enemies as well as allies. While attached to enemies, the Gesundeib drains health from the enemy and gives it to the Medic using it. In this mode, the weapon shifts into its "funnel" form. The rate of draining is dependent on the relative condition of the Medic and his victim; overhealed victims attacked by a weakened Medic will lose health rapidly, while weakened enemies attacked by an overhealed Medic will drain very slowly (making it difficult to use as a main attacking weapon). The Medic may overheal himself by draining. While attached to an allied unit, the Medic loses health, but not necessarily at a 1:1 ratio with the healing he produces. The weapon assumes the "nozzle" shape in this mode. Similar to the ramp on draining against an enemy, the Medic's healing power reduces as his health drops, making it difficult for a Medic to kill himself by healing his allies.
Ubercharge effect (if any) uncertain.
EDIT: With more than a few minutes' thought, I'd add that the Gesundeib would probably not be allowed to heal any faster than a normal Medigun, given the presence of health kits and Dispensers. The idea here is that, unlike like the Blutsauger, which can be saved for emergencies, the Gesundeib all but requires you to be forward with the attackers, actively converting enemy HP into allied HP. It is not a sit-at-the-base-building-Uber medigun. One possible way to reduce medkit and Dispenser camping by Gesundeib wielders would be to cut healing from sources which are not drained enemy HP.
Edit: Just because I need a secondary ranged weapon as assault medic.
Editsummoar: Also think of the hilarious blue medic healing blue soldier with medigun while red medic saps blue soldier's health to keep himself alive scenarios!
I wish you could tag enemies with either medi or kritz so that a little icon would show up on all allies screens for a short while. Like while you're locked on with the heal beam, you point at an enemy with the reticule and hit mouse1 to tag him.

Spying is hard enough as it is for people who haven't played the class for 70 friken hours.

Well, I tend to just hold down M1 on the cart and run around it. But at some point I have to stop so that I can actually see what the fuck is happening.
My understanding is that Proros just know what goes on and have no need for their eyes which were probably destroyed by a Stone Burner anyway.
Healthief would be a terrible idea. Good medics are already at the front lines, but this would require medics to be offensive, attacking enemies rather then hiding behind their burly companions. Which would result in them getting blown the fuck up. Medics are not supposed to be a combat class.

Play the original TF then. My understanding is medics were absolutely retarded in that game (conc grenades, ho!)
Enemy Territory has roughly the same Medic. They can drop health packs and resurrect people within the first x many seconds of them being dead but everything else is pretty standard FPS.
I understand the need for a healing class to be weak as attackers. Otherwise you wind up with a character type that can do everything and you hardly need anything else.
However, as it stands the Medic is the one character type out of nine who cannot justify doing anything but sitting around and watching bars fill up. Every other class has, as part of its job description, "kills things". Good Medics don't seek out enemies, and as a result playing a Medic is boring. The Medic's emphasis should absolutely be on assisting his allies, but there should be some viable option to assist allies while attacking enemies. I'd like to be part of the action without giving up the ability to heal entirely (as in, switch to Scout).
Hence the Gesundeib. Hence my suggestion that the Syringe Gun make its victims suffer Mini-Crits from other damage sources while it's striking them. Hence anything else I've ever said about the Medic.

Oh yeah, I remember that syringun idea. I also liked that one. Yeah, I was trying to figure out why medic was so boring yesterday and it's because of exactly that. You're like, just dodging gun fire and watching bars fill. The only time things get exciting is when you have an uber or kruber to pop or you do the dumb thing and attack instead of healing your allies. If you're really aware and active enough you can attack while keeping your teammates in the green, but even then, where there are a lot of people, most of your time is consumed with keeping everybody full.
I think there should be a medigun replacement where the ubercharge meter is replenished with ammo, and holding mouse 2 somehow buffs your patient, and releasing mouse 2 stops so you can conserve your ubercharge. I dunno, maybe the buff could be a speed increase, mini-crits, hurt your patient but make him radiate damaging radioactive energy. Yeah, that last one. I don't care about the griefing avenues!

You can't heal a cloaked friendly spy, so how would it be possible to kritz/uber another invisible friendly?
