The lighthouse king of the hill map is a control point map with a single CP, and a timer for each team that decreases while they control it. It caps in like 2 seconds, and the timers don't reset if you lose the point.
Ah, that sounds different than Arena with respawn. Is this what King of the Hill is usually like?
I can think of a fairly easy way to experience it for yourself. :winky:
Granted, it's a bit early in the day for it...
but later today...
honk honk?
There is already a king of the hill lighthouse custom map?
There are at least 3 king of the hill maps that I've seen on the HoNC:
Lighthouse, rather compact (there's also an arena version) but still fun. I also really like the atmosphere of the map, very well done.
Garbage Day, larger than lighthouse and featuring an actual hill of which to be king. Good map, although in the version I played it was stupidly easy to completely and utterly block the elevator, the only route to the CP other than climbing/rocket jumping.
Ziggurat. This map is bad, don't vote for it ever.

Ah, Ziggurat. Good times.
There's actually a fourth, the KOTH version of Waste. There was a "final" version that came out a bit ago, uploading it now.

I think we should talk about TF2, guys, because I play the game, and it is really fun.
Also, do not play engineer while non-sober, because it is not easy.
Also play pyro, because all you have to do is w and press mouse one.
You were killin' me last night Ice. Next time I go to Cali I'm tracking you down and dragging you out for a pub crawl.
I had to drink my beer very, very slowly when you were on my team.
"Watch out guys, they have this scout guy no scout..."
"--not that drunk just really, really drunk oh man"
Oh man did I say something about Cali? I'm nowhere near that, I'm in Virginia. And yeah I might have been trying to warn about a spy.... or... something. I remember duld kept disguising as scout, that might be it.
Can anyone link me to the commands used to replace the models and effects with the super high quality ones? My google-fu is weak today and I cant find them...

For some reason I thought you were on the left coast. Oh well if you're in VA that will make it even easier to hunt you down and drag you out for a crawl!
Sometimes I see a spy ahead of me and I can't bring myself to shoot them. I figure sometimes you gotta let these guys have their fun.
And then they backstab half my team and both medics who were just charging their ubers and everyone screams SPYCHECK PYROS GOSH and there I am coming around the corner...
I am always super surprised when spies backstab multiple people in a row.
I'm lucky if I get one backstab in before everybody in the group turns around and kills me. Even if everybody is turned away from me, as soon as I get close, everybody turns.
man are people in the drama chamber just trying to click on honk but missing
because honk
Hey man. Sometimes I like to conform outside. Honc isn't everything.

This name goes waay back to the Quake days. I also had it in WoW and was a few days from becoming Scarab Lord Scarab before I quit for good. Man my guild was pissed.
I wish we just had a VIP. It would be so much more fun defending a fat dude with an umbrella, then yelling, "GET ON THE FUCKING CART!" 3000000x.
escorting something that can die sounds like it would be so impossible in TF2
escorting something that is stupid sounds like it would be so impossible in TF2
at least the cart sticks to the fucking plan.
Somebody needs to make a payload map where there is a very easy path from start to exit, but the payload is a VIP that just wanders all over the place like a fucking moron before finally reaching the exit, falling over, and exploding.
Yes, because using a VIP class all of a sudden rids you of any movement and all thought process..
Sticking to the plan? You mean like winning the game? o_O
At least with the VIP you can flank people and actually have a sense of teamwork. With the cart it's like, yayyyy let's setup sentries all day before the cart gets here AND add some demospam WOO! :winky:
Man, you guys are prob the same people who haven't eve played hunted for TFC, let alone TFC. Trying to explain is pointless.

You could rocket jump the VIP in TFC over buildings if I remember correctly.

Yea what the greatest part was, you could give the VIP a boost into the vents, then while he's in vents, just keep shooting rockets while he jumps and he'd skip the whole level pretty much.
It is an argument, since the opposing argument is really "this will never work" when the original hunted shows it did.
Hunted is way way more fast paced than payload is. Payload is basically a more linear version of A/D, and really doesn't have much in common with hunted.
Also I don't think medics would have ubers in that mode, Unless they let the hunters have scouts.

I vote the HonC, need some good HonC fun and I'm sick to the tits of playing Goldrush.

except with VIP the assassin team is (was) limited to Spy and Sniper
also, get in the drama chamber
I second that motion. I will begin the filling.

Attentive checking will fix the spy problem, and the sniper problem can be dealt with by staying behind corners.
It's more fun than you'd think.

The VIP team gets heavies, soldiers and medics so the assassins can't really brute force things.
Also the VIP is a melee only engineer and the wrench has a 316.04% crit chance against spies.

because honk
VIP/Soldiers/heavies/medics
vs
Spies/Snipers
With crits turned off for that game mode. And just have the VIP's weapon be heavy strength or something
And all of you babies complaining about insta-kills never played the original hunted so shhhh
Hey man. Sometimes I like to conform outside. Honc isn't everything.
I'll jump in the HonC after I cook and eat dinner.

The defending team is like he said: Soldiers, Heavies, Pyros, Medics possibly and the VIP.
I was going to be mean and write something like shut up, you obviously haven't played the old hunted, but this will do.
Hunted seriously was so much fucking fun.

Man I loved that game.
And anyway, everything that I have heard about the original Team Fortress makes me want nothing at all to do with it.
Edit: I assume "sticking to the plan" means you at least know that the bomb will move along the track if someone touches it.
While a VIP may die instantly or wander around aimlessly or run into a corner or be afk in spawn or whatever.
Not necessarily insurmountable issues, but issues nonetheless.
