So I'm in Montery, California and need to weigh my truck for the registration process. Does anyone have any idea where I can get this done?

Not sure about Monterey (I'm in Oakland). But the local dump here weighs vehicles to see how much they have to charge for dumping. They also have scales that can handle up to a big rig. If there's one in your area you might try talking to them. Also around here, there are truck stop/weigh stations that'd do it.

Or take a trip up the interstate and try and find a weigh station that might do it.

Edit: Also, shouldn't it be on a sticker on your truck somewhere? (Usually on the inside doorjam? I think)

I don't know about officially, but I know here (Virginia) they weigh you when you enter and leave the landfill (it's how they base your fee -- the net change). You could ask them for the number when you leave (if they do that there).

Otherwise, you can look on your manufacturer's website for the Gross Weight of the vehicle.

    Edit: Beat!

If it's part of the registration process, it's not going to be a difficult fact to acquire. Check the owner's manual, see if it's in there amongst the other measurements.

    This.

If it's for registering your vehicle it will be easy to get. Manual.

    They don't take that.

Add your weight to what it says in the manual. =)

    http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/traffops/trucks/

Found during a quick google search. Not sure if that'll help, though they do have a list of weigh stations and what they call mini-site weigh stations. (Section 7 on the page)

    Edit: Or yeah, that.

That's where I went. The clerk was wonderfully ignorant on how I could actually fulfill the requirements.
