Where would one start to learn how to repair a clock?

I just bought a Panasonic RC-1280 flip clock and everything works 100% but the internals are loud. I only paid 4 bucks for it and it pleases me to find out how rare it is to get one of these working. Also, how much they can be worth. Someone sell for over 100 on ebay. Anyways, I have googled all day long with no luck on trouble shooting and repairing the device.
