The image size limit has been raised to 1mb! Anything larger than that should be linked to. This is a HARD limit, please do not abuse it.
Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Most of the time, I try to behave sensibly here and keep my head down. Occasionally, though, I am seized by an idea and feel compelled to follow through on it and make a thread about it. Sometimes this works out fantastically, like with Illustrated Grouphug. Sometimes it's a terrible idea and I just embarrass myself, like the time I tried to get everyone to sign a petition against trolling. This is one of those times, and like every time before I have no idea which way it's going to go.
This idea is called Augmentos (copy-pasted explanation below):
I have created this forum to serve two purposes:
(1) To provide a space for current Penny Arcade forumers to run mini-events, such as phallas, quizzes or RPGs (some of you may recall Pony's UNIFIED). The mods of the official forums (OFs) rightly frown on them being cluttered up with this stuff, and creating a new forum on the main site can only be justified if there is a very hefty groundswell of support. Augmentos covers the gap for things that are too big for one thread and too small to justify a new OF.
(2) The No-Life-Pod forum (currently hidden) will serve as a semi-official backup in the event that the main forums go down, so that people can continue to shoot the breeze and make arrangements for upcoming events such as PAX. It will be unlocked ONLY when the OFs are down.
Augmentos is NOT intended to be a self-contained community. People will naturally form sub-groups for the different games and events going on, and that's fine, but we should always remember that we're just an extension of the PA community, so play nice and no looking down noses.
For the same reason, we will by default be following the same rules here as in Social Entropy ++, with a few caveats, such as to generally stay on topic. After all, we already have a chat forum.
Please use this thread to discuss Augmentos itself. Click here if you want to start a project or game, or here if you think you'd make a good mod and would like to help out. Have fun!
