Dammit c'mon Auburn, I want BCS disorder. You beat 'Bama, then 'Bama beats Florida.
Even if Auburn wins today, it won't change the all-but-finalised-BCS game between the SEC champion and Texas (if UT wins the Big XII).
Remember, one year Nebraska played in the BCS championship game and they didn't even play in the conference title game, let alone win the thing.
The best we can hope for is that TCU, Boise, and Cincinnati all run the table this year no matter what the SEC and UT does. More fuel for a fire they can't control.
Oh well, at least Auburn didn't totally collapse. They played Alabama harder than anyone else did this year except maybe Tennessee. I'm not too disappointed.

The bigger mess this year the better. Too bad it probably won't be enough to get any real reform.
But next year with ESPN/ABC taking over the BCS, forget it. All the serious criticism of the BCS will disappear from major sports media, of which ESPN controls a huge portion. Does anyone even watch Fox Sports for programming other than actual games?

one would hope not.
Also, you would think ESPN would realize that they would get more money out of a playoff system than out of the bowl system. The reason the BCS is in place isn't because it's the best way for the networks to get money, it's in place because it's the best way for the major conferences to get the most money.

No, the only way the system gets reformed is when the current one is no longer profitable for the BCS conferences. And they set (and change) the rules to ensure that it is, so...

No... but I did watch that game where the guy got thrown off the couch. That was FSN, right?
Haha hearing Bama fans talk shit about the A&M/Texas game last night, followed by a barely-win over Auburn.
That was some shitty ass clock management. Auburn had a very real chance to win in the last minute, but noooo. Maybe FSU will upset the Gators, then the Gators can beat Bama, then we can still have mass confusion.

It's ok.
Feel better about the fact that Auburns math department sucks so much that 70 is waaaay too big of a number to count backwards from.

Had to be worth it for The Drive. You know I'm right.
Well, Nebraska turned in a decent game. But I think they spent the last half thinking about Texas more than remembering they had to finish Colorado and move on

You realize that our two closest games have been to our two closest rivals?
Do you have any idea what that does to a man?

In other news: After the Iron Bowl I just felt emotionally drained, even though it was clear that once Auburn had to go no-huddle they had no fucking clue what to do. RTR baby, RTR.
The Texas - A&M and the Auburn - Alabama game both remind me why college football games can be so great. Unranked teams challenging the # 2 and 3 ranked teams is pretty cool.
I was about to have a heart attack through most of the Texas game, but at least Alabama showed it wasn't just Texas struggling against a hated rival.
Edit: Also, even being a huge Texas fan I kind of wonder, if they get left out of the championship game while being undefeated because of a weak performance: Would Mack Brown pull out of the BCS?
I think Texas (the state) would revolt. I am almost certain that the whole state (or at least the state government) would immediately jump behind a playoff system. That could actually be a good thing, potentially.
Only a Texas fan wouldn't be able to understand that going undefeated and winning the Big XII championship makes UT a fucking lock for the BCS game.
Only in the most fevered imaginations could UT be shut out. Maybe FSU wins, then Florida beats Alabama and the selection committee thinks the world wants to see Alabama/Florida again a month later.

Does Auburn not understand the rules?
And then, with 8 second left, you run an interior pass?
This is what they talk about when they say some teams just don't know how to win.
