    star wars acknowledges all the EU stuff, books, video games, whatever

    as canon

    and they all lift ideas and concepts from each other

    star trek is all

    "only the TV shows and movies are canon, nothing else"

    even though there are piles of star trek novels they are all pretty much ignored

    heck, even the animated series which starred the entire original cast is considered non-canon

    although ideas from the animated series have entered into the rest of Trek

    like, kirk's middle name being Tiberius

    comes from the animated series

    I didn't mind new jedi order, honestly, but everything since it has been dogshit, and that includes all the star wars comics
