Okay so the manual says back and rb for pulls, but the game says back and y, how do I do pulls on the 360 version? When their targeter is orange it's back somethin right?

While holding the block button, just hold back on your left analog stick to pull. Do this when their targeter is orange.
While attacking with a regular attack combo, just hold forward on your left analog stick to push. DON'T do this when their targeter is blue.
i've been watching kaseius LP's for a while now, i started with wots1 then watched most of the the others. @kaseius you entertain me. i quite enjoy them but not liking jurassic the hunted as much. maybe because the game isn't my fav but i am saddened by the fact that you don't do wots3 as much anymore
There is a DLC lady in the game? The first DLC just kind of appeared in the costumes section. Only thing I heard about it was the weapons DLC showed up at some new character on the PS3 version. Far as I can tell there isn't anybody new in any of the towns, but I have absolutely no idea where to look.
Kaseius actually ran into her in one of his LP videos, I believe the latest set. Don't know if he mentioned where she was, but if you watch, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out about where she is.
I'm not sure if I he's playing the PS3 version or what, but I have had absolutely no luck finding any difference since I purchased the second DLC in the 360 version. I am such a moron for this game I can't even be mad at it, I had fun scouring every inch of it for something new even though I apparently paid a dollar for nothing.

Sorry! It's so much harder to decide what to do with an open world game than with something totally linear. I'll try to at least get one ending for WotS3 so it's sort of "finished".

I bought 50 Cent after hearing it recommended yet AGAIN by a gaming media outlet as a hilariously decent shooter. If you want, we can try and finish that some day, if your friend is still busy. Can we be three members of G-Unit or is it just two players?
Parry timing is ridiculous. I think I've gotten it once, and I didn't even kill the bastard because my exclamation of surprise and joy took up the time in which I would've been pressing the x button.

Just two, but it'd be possible to continue the campaign where I had left off, I think.
Instead of trying to time it, just rapidly mash the block button. That usually works.
Is glimpse of death a sometimes thing after you parry or it happens every time, barring stronger enemies and when your sword is blunt?
Also can someone recommend me a good draw stance sword? The one I found in the tree stump at the Road is good but the defense is sort of lame and Dojima has no idea what the fuck blacksmithing is about apparently.
I'd hope so. I mean, I set him to upgrade defense once, thinking that it wouldn't be as crappy as random usually is, and he sticks me with negative 7 defense. And it isn't like I've done nothing for Misae, either. Found her unmentionables like twice, then beat up a radish thief like twice also (a bit hypocritical since I myself steal radishes pretty much whenever I'm in town).

you should try a gamefaq and go for the best ending maybe. that should make it more linear plus if you make a mistake you can just roll with it i think. i mean the older games were pretty cool like that. you'd get at least one ending no matter what you did.
I hate to raise this thread with my necrotic magicks, but I was wondering if anyone else is having problems getting accessories to only come out when you're sword is drawn or sheathed or what-have-you.
It appears to revert to shared every time I try.
Skillpoints and quality>stats EXCEPT for dual stance, then it's just quality=quality, Always do random as it can upgrade both, and durability.
to explain further, a blade with -20 attack +1 def but 100 skill points is better, not worse than a blade with +8 +8 30, unless you're making a dual stance set.
Quality is another stat to look out for, if you have a sword with 10 quality, you can upgrade it 15 times. It's 500 yen per upgrade until after the quality threshold then it's 2000, 2500, 3000,3500, 4000 (I think) retries are 500 yen each, no matter the initial cost.
Doing jobs and getting known by name will increase the chances of good upgrades from blacksmiths. They can still mess up (and oh boy will they) but getting 600 yen per job is far more likely to weild 10+ stats to a weapon.
Hard has the best parts of course.
And the Leek (Short Green Onion, I guess.) Is the best weapon in the game anyway, I myself have a 5 durability 110+ ATK/DEF Organic one (organic being their custom title)
Pretty easy if you just lightly tap block over and over. Plus, once the instant kill chain starts, you just run up to suckas and start playing DDR to chop them in half.

Okay so I've started playing this game and I am so lost
I mean the game is actually way better about telling me what to do and where to go but it also doesn't really tell me why
I've played through it once and I'm really rather confused, so I have questions:
Where do I get a decent sword? This would help immensely
When can I start dual wielding swords? That'd be sweet as fuck
What purpose do books serve? I found the Art of War off a dude I killed
Where do I go to get a partner? There seemed to be several activities I could have done had I a partner, but the game neglected to tell me where to find one
Where do I go to play some minigames? So far I've found the bell ringing one, and that was a pleasant surprise, but if there's more I'd like some hints as to where they are. More things to do is always good
How long is the game supposed to take? I did the first run through in about five hours and five or six game days, is that normal? I barely even killed anyone until the final climax, and that doesn't seem right
Is there a way to side with the villagers without performing that lame underwear finding mission a bunch? Stupid raven makes it annoying
Isn't there a way to knock people out and then use their model for your appearance in a subsequent game? I didn't get that option
Of course the things I have learned about the game are awesome (holy shit accessory customization) but knowing these things would totally help
Also goddamn the intro cinematic is totally badass

Alright, here goes:
Swords are much better if you make them yourself. The problem is, the moveset for the sword will be entierly made up of moves you have already learned. It's a good idea to pick up swords off of people and use them for a bit to learn moves. Then, later, make your own sword at the blacksmiths.
In order to Dual-weild, you'll need to earn some Samurai Points from finishing the game. I don't remember how much, but it's a pretty low amount. You can get it easily doing the Radish trick.
Books are for selling. Scrolls, on the other hand, are used for moves.
Partners are located around the map at certain times of days. Some are hard to come by, some are easy. One is at the bridge in Town at night, although she can't do minigames. Another appears near Amana Castle entrance after the 3rd day. Bow to her and don't draw your sword to get her to partner up.
Besides the Bell minigame, you can cut fish for a merchant at the Post area (he's behind a girl that soliciates for a restaurant that Samurai can't enter, about the middle of town) or at Amana Castle, near the outer gate. You can also cut vegetables with the lady at the fields in the Village.
Games last as long as you want them to, really. In order to get an ending, you must see 13 Inklings. There will be an event after the 7th one (I think). Basically, see different inklings and you'll get to an ending. If you want to dick around or earn money, then just avoid them. You can avoid them easily by being on a job, as that negates the Inkling.
You don't really need to side with the villagers by doing those jobs. It doesn't really impact the story at all. (At least in my experience) You can go ahead and do jobs for the other 3 brokers if you like.
To play as others, you'll need Samurai Points. I believe it's one of the last things you unlock, so just do the Radish Trick if you're in a hurry.
Hopefully that helps.

1.) Get some radishes. Doesn't matter where, you can even STEAL them.
2.)Start up a game and eat a radish.
3.)Leave town via the map screen.
4.) You've just got a bunch of Samurai points for eating one thing. Do it again until a new difficulty is unlocked. The higher the difficulty, the more points.
I still say, with skills maxed, the leek is the best weapon. All of its Y attacks (and w/e it is on your PS3s :P) come out faster than most other ones, that and you only need to get it level 6 or so for maxed skills with it.
I have a custom made sword with roughly 72 attack and 235 skill points, and yet my sword does piddling damage compared to his dual blades of health bar decimation.
I can parry reasonably well, but if one or two of his attacks slip in I'm finished.
You could work on buffing your sword's defense, or there are items you can buy to increase your health from the merchants at the posting station.

What are good stats for a sword, exactly?
Skill points seem to matter, but at the same time, I don't know that many skills for a lot of different swords. I only have like 17 out of 56 for draw stance, and yet I've used my draw sword to kill like two hundred dudes
Quality is also a good thing to have I'm guessing, but I can't seem to find parts that up quality more than one or two points. Of course I've been playing on easy to get a feel for the game, that probably has something to do with it
And weight is also important, since I want to attack things and not stand there while I'm getting chopped up into itty bitty pieces because my sword is just too heavy
And what about spears, are they any good? Because they look pretty cool. Not as cool as dual swords of course, but still
I dunno about spears but I'm pretty sure max quality can go is 2, I know durability can go to 3 but the highest quality I've seen on hard is 2. Just try to not have all -40 parts for a sword you're making.
Weight and quality are the most important because with some work and patience, you can pretty much get your other stats how you want them. Also skill are important as well.
Quality goes much higher than 2 as well. Some weapons get way up there. Just remember that the most bitchin swords are carried by major characters or require some amount of work to get.

Per piece, I'm talking crafting swords not NPC swords. 5 parts of 2 quality is a sword with 10 quality.
Instant kill mode is more frustrating that I thought it'd be.

So it's all about finding swords and not really about building them so much?
What no? I'm talking about parts, of course you'll be building your own swords, can't do that without the proper parts though, I still need a quality 2 pommel.
To be a bit clearer a sword/spear needs 4 parts to make
grip
blade
pommel
guard
you take the parts to a blacksmith and pick "I want to talk about weapons" create weapon is the 3rd option.

Looking forward to one hit mode.
You say that now, but how often do you save?
First run through, I scared off the peasants, killed two thugs, and was mercilessly cut down by that raving fanatic on the road with the cool hat.
My second playthrough is going a bit better, just finished the death arena and got a halfway decent sword.
Anyone have any general tips for sword building/scavenging/upgrading?
