I loved the first game, didn't get a chance to play the second. I don't know why I've waited to pick this up. It sounds fantastic.

Finally got my first ending today. After the Nobunaga event,
Shuzen's men invaded. Holy shit. That was so awesome, but I wish it was optimized a little better. The whole time during the fight, it was running like, 20 FPS or so.

I started using Genjuro's sword, since I hadn't stored it and I lost a bar of durability on my stand-by spear since I accidently stabbed like, five dudes at the same time and didn't want to risk that fight with two bars. Goddamn. Thing's a beast. I had to have picked up so many little boxes and things.

Small question though: I killed Shuzen's guy with the Ninja stance sword and when I loaded the game up after I got the ending and everything, I only had two swords. Does it disappear if you don't store it/equip it or something? Or is it because I got the "Ouka Clan goes out fighting" ending?

I was pissed, though, because I had enough "Villain" penalties to have -40 Samurai points after. So I just did the Radish trick a couple times. All better.

Man, I've spent the last few days playing the crap out of this game and have only finished like a third of the endings and have barely learnt any skills. Sometimes it really sucks being a completionist.

What ending would you guys recommend going for on hard difficulty? I think I'll be saving a lot when going for that.

Unless you got a really good sword and some health boost, do one that doesn't require fighting one of the bigger bads. The selfless sacrifice is pretty easy to get.

Neat, I think I'll go for that right after I finish my current playthrough.

Darth_Mogs: From what I can tell, you can only hold 2 weapons right at the start of a new game so it automatically unequips your third weapon. You should find it in your Weapon Box.

Oh, good. It wasn't that hard to kill that dude, but I'm a weapon hoarder, so I hated the idea of losing it since I already had it.

That ninja sword is probably the best "easy mode" sword in the whole game. It's what I still use, until I build a sword. It has a juggle move that's unblockable that can be followed up by a 3 hit combo. It can even juggle characters lying on the ground, sometimes. Shuzen on Hard was a joke with it.

I think you pretty much have to follow a walkthrough or get really lucky. It has some pretty specific scenes you have to see. I know it involves getting the red spear dude to rescue you, I think when what'shername is about to be executed.

It's about the size of an item you pick up, maybe a little bigger wrapped in a blue blanket. Check along the ledge (like right on the ledge) where all the people are that overlooks the little area below that you can fall down to.

I hated that mission for the exact same reason.

Yeah, I got the hang of it after a few guys. It's just that two guards stumbled upon me at the same time, and I could only start hitting one. So that and the general annoyance of the game just leaving you out to dry there just really got on my nerves.

If you go to whichever job broker covers those people and either do the job they give you (Ouka/Amana's has you kill 100 opponents, I'm not sure what the other two do) or give them 1000 yen, the people won't be frightened by you anymore.

Also, you're getting your money back after buying stuff, right? If you didn't know beforehand, you can kill the whichever merchant you bought stuff from and they'll drop all your money.

Well, I've, uh....killed everyone in Ouka Clan except Joji. I have no idea who's overseeing the regular people in the Posting Station.

And no, I actually haven't been getting my money back because I was trying to preserve my options in the Posting Station (didn't buy all the scrolls in one go and didn't know I could pay someone off, if I can) and I've been abusing the 1,000 Yen a day from Joji. I should have thought of that, though. Oh well.

So, I've been dual-wielding a lot lately, and my main sword just hit max Level. It is now unbreakable. Which is awesome.

Only thing, my bar has been completely replaced by the new one, even when I dual-wield. Does that mean both my swords are unbreakable as long as I have my main one equipped? Or is the other swords bar just hidden?

Yip, each sword has at least one unique skill so you're going to have to collect every single one. By the time I'd gotten all the endings, I already had 50 or so swords, then I just jumped into a few Easy and Instant Kill runs and managed to get them eventually.

I platinumed the game a week or two back by the way, I was pretty wrapped with that.

What about the rare swords that just randomly show up, like Shuzen's hoe? Just keep soft resetting until he has it? Or do I have to start a new run for him to have another chance at having it?

Soft resetting works for all the swords that have a random chance of dropping. I'd suggest saving in a different location beforehand though, since I seemed to have pretty poor luck when I saved in the same place as the target beforehand.

It's really not that hard actually. Just save before the try-out brawl (or whatever it's called), in case someone gets a lucky hit in, do 4 easy jobs and then do a bunch of cutscenes until you can get in and fight him. I actually thought his weapons were some of the easiest on Instant Kill (outside the random-ness of them), since you generally have an idea what you've got to do.

Instant Kill modes pretty fun once you get used to it. Every fight is an adrenaline rush.

Oh and one thing I'd recommend doing while spamming scrolls, get Minamo as a partner. She'll give you access to the Item Box, so you can buy scrolls, throw them into the Item Box, buy more scrolls, etc. It saved me so much time.

I can see what you meant about the Shuzen thing. That was easy as pie. The first time I made it up to him, he had his Hoe and another one of the five different swords he can have. And then the next time I made it, after a rezone, he had the last one I needed. But I'm still at 86/102.

For the swords you get from the job givers for their ultimate mission, can you only get one per play, or can you get all four of them to max trust and go around getting them all? I'd imagine the former, but the latter would be so damn convenient.

I think I got 3 of them in one playthrough, then had to get the fourth (from Joji) on a different playthrough because the ending I'd chosen on my first playthrough made him disappear after the Nobunaga event. Keep an eye out for the missions that'll get you other swords as well, like the fake Shuzen one (which you get from Misae).

Well, that's comforting. Is it when you start earning 600 Yen you're at max trust (barring if you've angered them or anything before) or is there another tier?

And yeah, of the ones I have left, three are random people drops (Gankutsu-tou, which I had but didn't save before I got IK'd, Tamayura, Hajin), the Yudachi which I suppose only that Kirizio guy has rarely, two partner weapons, and job weapons. Hopefully I can sweep the last of them easily.
