    So is our game on tuesday the real deal for our valiant heroes? That is to say, not a training mission?

    If so, we really do need an OPFOR vent channel that kali can give us orders through to keep the game running in the direction he wants.

    I wonder if you guys would mock him still if he used the UM-R60L variant (swaps out the AC/10 and 2 tons of armor for an AC/20).

    This is also a variant created/used by your neighbors in the Cappellan Confederation/Liao. :D I dunno about you guys, but thats one walking trashcan I wouldn't want to turn a city corner into.

    heh r2d2 trashcan.

    The ac20 is more dangerous, but the less range/armor, coupled with the low speed dooms it to garrison duty only.

    Really, the urbanmech wouldn't be as easily mocked if it would move faster than an Atlas. The AC10 and small Laser are fairly dangerous to lighter mechs, and it has good armor

    Well, that is what Urbies are intended for, the only reason you're doing otherwise with it is conveniently explained by the fact you're a hereditary owner.

    Why your family owned an Urbanmech in the first place and how they've yet to be come dispossessed is a mystery that man was perhaps not meant to know.

    The thought of a young man gnashing his teeth in impotent rage as he watches a battle from a safe distance inside his disgraced father's old Urbanmech fills me with glee.

    If he's not a gibbering psychotic yet, he will be. I can't think of anything that would make someone more aggressive.

    His lance mates must be terrified of him.

    Assault lance detail in the AC20 variant would probably fill me with even more rage.

    Would never be able to shoot anything. Everything would just kite me.

    Just posting to confirm what I said on Sunday: won't be able to make the game tonight. 7 PM is just too early for a weekday. Even if I am home from work by then will be in the middle of cooking dinner etc...

    And I'll be sure to ask if i'm not sure what my mech's role is this time. So I won't be trying to shoot stuff as much in a Charger.

    Unfortunately the Charger is something of a joke 'mech in many circles. However, one never jokes about it when within its arm's reach.

    [B]Description[/B]

The Charger was designed by Wells Technologies in 2665 as a scout 'Mech designed to survive contact with the enemy. This was done by building the Charger on an 80-ton frame, making it the heaviest scout 'Mech in existence. In order to carry out its mission as a scout, the Charger is powered by a massive LTV 400 fusion engine that takes up almost sixty percent of the Charger's mass. The Charger is armored with ten tons of armor, which is more than adequate for its role as a scout 'Mech. If faced with a 'Mech of similar size, the Charger uses its speed of 86.4 km/h to evade an attacker.

[B]Armament[/B]

Because the designers of the Charger wanted to discourage any activities that would put the 'Mech in danger, the engineers at Wells Technologies armed the Charger with five Magna Mk I Small Lasers. These weapons give the Charger respectable firepower at extremely short ranges and are effective against infantry. The Chargers most potent weapons are actually its fists. If the Charger is able to close to short range, then the 'Mech can use its massive fists and weight to do an amazing amount of damage to its target.

    5 small lasers and some meaty fists mean you do all your fighitng within 4 hexes (extreme range for s.lasers). Get in as close as you can as fast as you can and demolish things. However, pick on things smaller than you, don't try to go toe-to-toe with another assault without backup. This is all the opinion of someone who forgets most of the ruels and has never used one though.

    Haha, so galaga swarmed my mech with his infantry.

    Then I got shot by a tank on his team, and the infantry got in the way and took all the damage, getting splattered all over my urbie.
