I fired up a game and increased my resolution. By mistake I set it to one my monitor doesn't support. Now the screen is blank on boot. Safe mode is fine but the resolution won't stick between boots.
Anyone know how to manually set the resolution? Or a way to fix this?

Boot into safe mode and run msconfig.
under Boot, Check the option for "Base video".
exit, reboot
change your resolution upon next boot.
reboot.
run msconfig - uncheck base video - reboot

You can also use the advanced boot menu (press F8 just before Vista boots) and select "Enable low-resolution video" to force it into 640x480. This will bypass the safe mode step.
