I think you should assume you aren't going to forget to take it, pick the drug that works best based on that, and then make damn sure you don't forget. Get a watch with an alarm on it and make taking that pill your number one priority whenever it goes off. Maybe make a point of not hitting the "off" button for the alarm until the pill is on its way down your throat, so you don't fall into the trap of "Oh I'm busy right this second I'll go take it once I'm done here" and then forgetting.
I was on antidepressants for a while about two years ago (specifically, I was taking paroxetene for anxiety but I was depressed too). The drugs got my brain to break out of the cycle of constantly panicking about everything and with the perspective that gave me I was able to get into better habits and eventually come off the drugs and stay mentally healthy (at least as healthy as anyone who posts here).
Best of luck dude, I hope the new medication works out for you and you can get well again. You can always come here for support if you need to, there's always a few assholes but most people here are pretty supportive of genuine problems. I think the "Fuck" thread more than proves that.
Man just dump it out in the yard somewhere, you're not going to be able to use it for anything useful.
Prozac sent me for a fuckin' loop when I was put on it back in sixth grade.
Then again, that was due in large part to them mis-diagnosing my bipolar and giving me an anti-depressant. Whoopsy-daisy.
But when I took prozac, and even when I took way more than my dosage because I was frustrated with it not working, nothing happened, so at least I'm probably not bipolar?
I'd spent fifteen minute chunks of time banging my head into brick walls or biting myself until I drew blood
So yeah you're probably okay
Man did that shit mess me up
Indeed it was!
On the upside (I guess?), it made me so terrified of medication that I just forced myself to get my shit under control naturally.
The downswings sometimes still knock me out of social commission for a couple of days, but I've managed to completely eliminate the angry outbursts. So hooray.
So I am taking some summer courses in advanced chemistry and calculus and getting lecture CD's from various universities on economics, history, and strategic dynamics.
It is going good!
Also, I want to be better at drawing.
But mostly I think my current goal in life is to write a book, and I will finish writing said book within a couple of months
Oh no I've jinxed it
But fuck it, I'm going out with a lovely lady sometime this week.
This girl is so out of my league, it isn't even funny.
finally you say something I can agree with
I get me some B&J usually.
lucky ass

Oh, for my own self-improvement, I'm gonna write more. Want to have this current script done by Friday, and then have a spec pilot underway by the end of the month.
