dude don't be ashamed at all hey

slow is the way to do it.

The longer it takes to lose and the harder you have to work to do it, the harder it's gonna be to pile it back on.

I've plateaued pretty bad right now, only lost like 5 pounds in the last 4 weeks or so, but you gotta keep going, even kick it up a notch.

One thing that totally helped me is doing different kinds of exercise so it's not boring. I ice skate on mondays, box on tuesdays, swim on wednesdays, run on thursdays and bike on fridays. Then on the weekends I swim again if I have excess energy.

I've started taking the stairs up to my office every day at work instead of the elevator. I'm up on the 10th floor. I'm not in very good shape, so I start to breathe a bit heavy by about the 8th floor. But even after just a few days, it's starting to get easier. Hopefully, I'll get to the point where I can just run right up without any problem at all.

I don't really go by weight

It's sometimes pretty disappointing to only lose a pound a week if I've worked my ass off, so I generally just stick to pant sizes.

I'm actually pretty proud that I haven't gained a bunch of weight back since I started working at my new job. There's tons of food readily available at any time, big boxes of donuts and bagels every morning, and catered lunch each Thursday. I've gone up a little bit, but not really as much as it could have been. I'm doing a decent job of still trying to stick to more smaller meals/snacks throughout the day instead of just 3 average/big meals. And I've been eating a lot more fresh fruit in the mornings, since that's also available, and having a salad at lunch almost every other day.

I can't believe how much the smaller meals/snacks approach has helped me out. After getting sick and turning into a giant lump for the entirety of June, I've been getting back into the swing of things lately. My goal is to shake fifteen pounds by September. Feelin' good about it so far.

Which is nice, since problem-solving in every other area of my life is being sadly neglected by me.
