So in an effort to be a good boyfriend, I'm going to load up this I-pod nano full of nothing but audio books for her, as she just switched stores and now has an hour long commute to work.
She just finished with the twilight series (no comments, please) and she loves zombies, horror, and she hates clowns and cows (I have no idea how that would impact the kind of fiction she would read).
I'm kind of lost here, as I've never really listened to audiobooks and I want this to be a special gift she really likes.
Read my Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. It's hilarious..

'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro, read by Ron fucking Perlman. It's a vampire thriller story, absolutely fantastic, real chills at times, very good story, really interesting characters, and an excellent reading by Perlman.

I believe in angels, not the kind with wings, no...not the kind with halos, the kind who bring you home
the tamora pierce books are very enjoyable light fantasy books aimed at girls. i think they are all available as audiobooks now (i personally hate audiobooks but an itunes search shows them there). if you look into them, start with the alanna quartet, then the immortals quartet, then the protector of the small quartet. (alternatively check out the circle of magic quartet then the circle opens quartet)
that's a really sweet thing of you to do, i am sure she'll love it
Thanks for all your help guys, i really do apreciate it.
After hinting around for a few days, trying to get a guage on what she's read (She said Cell was one of her favorite books ever, so kudu's, Scannerlightly), I've narrowed it down to this list,
Harry potter series
The Strain
The Host
I am Legend (Dur, why am i not remembering this?!)
I think this should be enough to keep her occupied. If anyone has some final suggestions, I'd still aprecciate it, and once again, thanks for all your help.
A second for Terry prachett
Harry potter is also read by Steven Fry (never heard one but I love Steven Fry and would listen to that man read anything)
Also not sure if it's for her but The Partner by John Grisham one of the best audio books ever IMO
Since you said you're doing this for her long commute to work, get her a car adapter of some sort for the Nano. Google tells me it is quite possibly illegal to listen to headphones while driving. It most certainly is illegal in the state of Washington, for example. Avoid the possibility it is also illegal wherever you live as well.

Stephen Fry reads the shit out of Harry Potter. I prefer him to Jim Dale (who is still excellent).
if she is a Harry Potter fan, then look for the Brad Neely "Wizard People: dear reader" sort of a MST3K of the first potter film. I've got a copy burned to CD to listen in the car. funny stuff.

World War Z, absolutely fantastic audiobook.
Its available on itunes too.
Steam 3DS: 1160-9885-2554
Holy shit, how did i not think of this?
Anymore? I'm thinking of putting the stand on it, so yes she even likes king.
Read my Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. It's hilarious..
I also suggest American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Its awesome and its narrated by George Guidall, by far the best audiobook narrator I've heard.
I enjoyed "In A Sunburnt Country" quite a bit as it was read by him, and "A Short History" was really good, if not a little long.
Lenny Henry doing Gaiman's "Anansi Boys" is also fantastic.
The Discworld Books by Terry Pratchet.
Neil Gaiman- Fragile Things, Stardust, Neverwhere
The Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters, read by Barbara Rosenblat.

Cell doesn't have zombies. They're zombie-esque at first...
I highly suggest the book by the way; it's great. I cranked it out in about 2.5 days.
It's also the only book ever that has made me cry.
