I just wanted to pop in and say that holy shit Wario Land: Shake It is awesome.
I want more 2D platformers that look and play this nicely.
I thought Wario Land 4 was much better designed but I liked Shake It all the same. I just love how un-Nintendo Wario is, he's a real bastard and I love him for it.
I'm just getting around to playing the two games I bought at Gamestop's recent sale
Didn't I tell you? :P
I can't think of anything outside of Sonic Unleashed on the 360 that achieves such a perfect sense of speed.
The 360 spin move (Where you hold boost & brake then rotate the controller) is taking some getting used to as is the Wii wheel in general--I miss half of the goodies/mini-games in the tracks.

But it's a blast.
You get used to it, and the spin becomes easier. I prefer the wheel myself actually, and still play Mario Kart using the wheel also...but it takes a bit. It's an awesome game though, zany, and deserved much better than Nintendo gave it.

Oh yeah, after I saw how well the wheel works for Mario Kart I didn't bother with any of the other control options. It's just been a few months since I've played Mario Kart so I have to retrain myself a bit.
The next twelve months are gonna be great for Wii games.
I don't care what anyone says about the gameplay, but from where I'm sitting, Muramasa is still lookin' mighty fine.
The rest all look pretty "meh" though. I'm still curious about SH: Origins, but that's not really a Wii exclusive, and I'm really doubtful that SMG2 and Metroid: Other M will hit within the next year.

Holy jesus. Someone posted a video of Wii-Exclusive upcoming games.
I've forgotten about half of this shit.

Out of that video I want to pick up/am interested in:
-Wii Sports Resort
-The Conduit
-Muramasa: The Demon Blade
-TMNT: Smash Up!
-Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo (It's so nice to see a non-Z Dragonball game for fuck's sake.)
-Silent Hill Shattered Memories
-Rabbids Go Home
-A Boy and His Blob
-New Super Mario Bros. Wii
-Metroid Other M
-Super Mario Galaxy 2
-Spyborgs
-Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
-Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
-Red Steel 2
-Sin & Punishment 2
-No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
-Monster Hunter Tri
-The Grinder
Neither grabs me yet, but Cursed Mountain & Monado may make that list as well. Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics is a possibility as well. I've never played the first one, however.
Otherwise not the least interested in anything else there. ...And that's not counting whatever Wii titles come out of fucking nowhere that didn't make it onto this video.
I really wish I could sell my 360 with a good conscious. But the problem is that I've invested probably more than $200 in Live Arcade stuff and there's simply no way for me to resell that stuff. I kinda regret getting the thing in the first place.
With Nintendo...games pop up out of nowhere all the time. :P
I can't wait to pick up TMNT: Smash Up.
The title I always point to with statements like this is The Munchables. It dropped with no fanfare whatsoever and at $20 it turns out to be a awesome Pac-Man/Katamari mashup clone.
It’s that time of the year, when rumors come flying near a gaming event. Starting August 19th, and running through to Sunday, August 23rd, is GamesCom. Of course, new rumors are here, and this time they’re on PlayStation Network.
The latest rumor comes from PlayStation Insider, who say their source has told them that Sony is set to announce Firmware 3.0 at their upcoming press conference. It is said they were careful not to say it would not release the day of announcement. However, they will announce it, and detail the features that come with it. The source says that this firmware will coincide with the launch of the new PlayStation Network.
There was a rumor some time ago that suggested that Sony would be releasing a new PSN service, one that would have you pay a one flat rate for access to unlimited downloads. It would still have online play, and the other features for free though. Think of it as Xbox Live, but with the perk of gaining access all content on the network. Whether this plan is still in play though has yet to be determined.
Make sure to stick with PSLS, as we’ll report on this rumor as it picks up more steam. And be sure to be here when Sony presents their three hour conference at GamesCom, as we’ll keep you posted on new developments.
Typically I take these platform-specific sites with a grain of salt, but these were the guys that leaked the Last Guardian trailer weeks before E3, so I'm a little hopeful.

Except they're not the ones "reporting" it, 'Playstation Insider' is. It sounds like bullshit to me. The PS3 Slim and price drop are at this point to be expected. But some magical new firmware that launches a "new" PSN? Yeah right.

A "new" PSN in the manner of the New Xbox Experience doesn't sound outside the realm of believability.
I pity those who sold thier Wiis through lack of games at this moment.
Nah, the sort of person who perceived a lack of games previously would still not see anything worth having in that video either. You saw Unbreakable's opinion.
That, and for those who take stock in review scores, each of those games except for Mario/Metroid will be getting a 7-8 average on Metacritic, since their graphics are not as good as those on an HD console. It's been the rule since the Wii released.

Im pretty sure its more to do with them being cheap cash-ins, bad ports or mini-game collections.

Besides, the people that sold their Wii due to "lack of games" would complain that there isn't enough shooters, not enough "mature" games, and that OMG IT'S NOT HD.

There were some fools thinking Sony would make a similar announcement at E3 and I called it dumb then too. Still sounds like the same dumb rumour.

Haven't read any list by Maximumzero, Supreme Commander 1st Class Dick.
There's always a rumor that a major firmware change is coming for the PS3, but it never materializes. At this point I wouldn't put any stock in firmware rumors until one actually comes true.

I really wish I could sell my 360 with a good conscious. But the problem is that I've invested probably more than $200 in Live Arcade stuff and there's simply no way for me to resell that stuff. I kinda regret getting the thing in the first place.
Yes, we are all well aware.
EDIT: On another note, if you've spent $200 on XBLA stuff, why would you be upset about not being able to sell the system? You've been able to play all of those great games, and more XBLA stuff is coming down the pipeline.
I would buy a Wii just for being able to download old NES/SNES games, unfortunately there is only one colour available in the US...white.
Hey Nintendo, when in the fuck are we gonna get our rainbow array of different color Wiis?
And if they bring out a Chrome Wii thats a fucking Insta buy DAY FUCKING ONE!! I don't care if I have to flip a Brinks truck to buy one.
I simply do not understand the logic of not buying a console because you don't like the color.
some of us have entire rooms decorated specifically with one set of colours that is in-congruent with certain other colour sets. When your entire living room is set up with black, chrome, glass, and blue as a theme, having something out of set just grates on the eyes.

I guess it's a decision between variety and dedication.
While I can't say I agree, on the bright side.....following your logic, my decision to not get a Wii (there were a one or two games I enjoyed on it, but other than that...) was a good one.
I'm not trying to sound like an ass or anything, it's just a unique POV you don't hear among many people. I've only purchased 3 or 4 XBLA games, but I do agree, the zero resale chance on digital distribution is one thing that has turned me off to it.

If you look at my achievements list in the link in my sig you'll see that at least half of that stuff is arcade titles. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, because they're all awesome, but yeah, if at some point I decided I wanted to sell the 360 to get more games for my DS, PSP, or Wii instead, I can't resell all of the downloaded stuff which is a major bummer.

No, it is a bummer. I mean, personally, I just don't like (the current roster of) XBLA arcade games enough to funnel $200 into it (in reality, I've spent about a tenth of that). The same is true for VC on the Wii.....sooo....I guess be wary of VC, lest you one day wake up and realize you're bored of your Wii? Like, for example, when the new Nintendo console comes out?
Of course, this is all just wild speculation. The only thing that is concrete is that DD games have zero chance of return, so it's just something we all have to live with.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, because they're all awesome, but yeah, if at some point I decided I wanted to sell the 360 to get more games for my DS, PSP, or Wii instead, I can't resell all of the downloaded stuff which is a major bummer.

that's probably why you're a gamer and not an interior designer :P
It's pricey, but you could always go the Colorware route if it's that important to you.
