For the record, kind of off topic here, but I think that people who are asking for MORE than the original purchase price are being downright dirty.

What would keep people from buying several tickets and just re-selling them for more if it wasn't frowned upon? ESPECIALLY the BYOC tickets, which people are now trying to sell for so much more.

Thank you so much to those of you who are selling these tickets at COST (however much they purchased them for + if necessary, shipping), and not trying to make a profit. I appreciate it, at the very least.

    Supply and Demand.

Yes, they CAN get that amount for it simply because the demand is high.

    Morally? Just wrong.

If people *purposely* purchased more passes than they would need in order to sell them for higher prices when the show sold out, then perhaps your "immoral" argument would hold water.

No one KNEW PAX09 would sell out. From the day badges went on sale there was heavy speculation that it might, and many of us who use the forums, IRC, facebook, twitter, and other sites put the word out as much as we could that it was unwise to dawdle if you were considering going to PAX.

I myself - told many, MANY people to hedge their bets and buy passes if they were thinking about going due to expected higher demand this year. If you were out of the loop or didn't listen, that's not really my fault.

Lastly, I accidentally purchased an extra 3-day pass because I panicked and somehow forgot to read when I was registering for BYOC. If a friend needed a pass, sure I'd probably sell it to them at cost. But if no one steps forward, I don't see anything wrong with selling it for the best offer on the table.

    tl:dr :P

The BUYER is setting how much they are willing to pay based on how much they want to go to PAX this year. The sellers are simply responding to demand.

    Agreed.
Whining after procrastinating for the last few months is ridiculous. Im selling mine for $75 because my 2 friends (that used to own the tickets) bailed on me. I paid for our hotel and they gave me these to offset the hotel cost.

Also, unless you live in the same city, the tickets are no longer worth cost. As you have to ship/drive/paypal (fees) them to the other person. Plus your time, which for some people, is valuable.

    NEED TICKET:

    Reese Kindle
    Seattle, WA
    snoboard_freak2003@yahoo.com
    Just one ticket
    asking around $60-$70
I'll pay cash, or in meals.
snail mail, or on the weekend of PAX.

I had heard PAX had sold out, and I felt a curtain of depression come over me. This would be my ultimate summer cap, and I WILL buy if anyone is willing to sell.

I'm not talking about just those people that bought the tickets to sell at a higher price later on. You're making a profit on something that I PERSONALLY THINK people should not be making a profit on. If they're using the so-called "profit" to pay for shipping, then that's not making a profit, now is it? However, selling a $30 BYOC ticket for $80 is quite obviously making a profit. Please don't mistake people adding shipping costs as making a profit :x Now, I do regret posting my opinion in this thread as opposed to messaging the people that were trying to make a profit on these tickets, so to keep this thread from being LOCKED, feel free to send your responses to me in PM. I didn't intend for it to become an argument, and fair warning now, you will NOT change my opinion and there's a good chance I won't respond to it, but if you still feel the need to tell me your opinion on the matter, go ahead.

Oh, and for the record, I'm not whining after procrastinating. I found my pass for the original purchase price BEFORE I made that comment, because thankfully, there are still some people that have the same morals that I do ;)
