Brock Lesnar is huge, and knows how to wrestle. That's all he can do. In the MMA, knowing how to wrestle isn't particularly impressive

kazushi sakuraba is the best dude

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-A2GDDNz_Sw&feature=related

though its painful watching him still fight nowadays and get crushed by dudes, he has always been a warrior

also, wanderlei silva was so damn badass before he joined the ufc (and most probably had to stop taking roids)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAVH5MBg8Qo

the first three minutes shows some of his brutal loses, but after that, its basically him beating the holy hell out of people

    pride was so dang fun

I get so worked up when I have to watch these shows.

Not in a "YEAH KICK HIS ASS!" Kinda way.

At least in wrestling (which I watch once a year) you know they have trained to do everything possible NOT to hurt each other.

    MAn these guys... Man.

i really enjoy watching this, and only partly for the parts where they are humping each other while wearing very little clothing.

back when tapout wasn't so big my dad used to go to the cage matches and was acquaintances with a few of the guys in charge. i have some tapout dogtags somewhere, and a tapout shirt from years ago.

Pacifism and neutrality are not the same thing. Switzerland has mandatory service in the armed forces, and everyone owns their own weapon. Peace through power, etc.

How is it safer than boxing? I don't really watch much of either, so from an oblique view MMA seems far more dangerous.

Because fighters aren't allowed to stand around getting their face beaten in and then given time to recover to get their face beaten in some more. If you get knocked down, and knocked stupid, the ref stops the fight. If you cannot, as they say, "intelligently defend yourself", the ref stops the fight.

No UFC fighter has ever suffered from Parkinson's after his career. No fighter in ANY SANCTIONED MMA BOUT has died in the ring. More paralyzing and permanently disabling injuries happen in highschool cheerleading than do in UFC. MMA is safer than boxing.

Brain damage in boxing is from repetitive hits over and over for many rounds. MMA is more about hitting a guy a few times really hard. Basically you're shooting for knockouts.

Also, there is ground game with submissions that aren't brain hitting based.

No, see, that's different, they are protecting people.

    That is unfortunately necessary.

    Because some people are dicks.

As for oil fields and lumberjacking, that's fine I guess, it's not like they can't be decent people, it's just they are doing jobs that put themselves at risk cause they probably don't know anything else or because it pays good, doesn't make them less Real men.

Also I never said REAL men, I just meant I don't like real life violence, or at least it's glorification.

Like in MMA, guys are actuality getting injured and bleeding and they are in pain, I don't think it's necessary.
