Michael and Michael have issues (Stella minus David Wain)

Michael and Michael have issues is a sketch comedy show staring Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter.
You probably know them from Stella, and some other stuff I'm too lazy to list. I think Michael Ian Black does some of those VH1/E comedian commentary stuff too.
Anyway, it premiers tonight. Some of you on the east coast probably already got to see it.
For those of us on the west coast. It starts at 10:30 West/ 11:30 Central (or however the crap they do tv schedules, i just know that you have to turn your tv on at 10:30 if you are in seattle, if you arnt there, then you do the math) on comedy central. It will air on wednesdays. If history teaches us anything, it will be good.
It had its moments, but it definitely has ways to go before it's in "good" territory. I am glad CC stopped trying to find Chappelle II and is trying new things.
What's weird about this show is that I recall seeing the ads for it years ago, then never saw the show. And now it's back, or maybe I accidentally did time travel.
Saw the first half... it was alright. Earned a couple chuckles, but I don't realy like Michael Ian Blacks character. On the other hand, the Terri Gross interview with them yesterday on Fresh Air was amazing.

It was pretty good (especially the 2nd half), but I think I'd enjoy it more if it was either fully a sketch comedy show or fully a Larry Sanders/30 Rock show about making a show. Splitting it down the middle leaves both a bit underdeveloped.

I won't post it, as it kinda toes the NSFW line, but Dick Fish is probably my favorite Stella bit ever.
Also, while living in the dorms during college, I spent the better part of a weekend sitting in my girlfriend's dorm room watching Stella bits online with a few friends and some stuff that rhymes with banana bus. It was a glorious weekend that I will never forget to attempt to remember.

Those were probably Stella commercials, which as mentioned starred these two guys and David Wain.

Victory! I found the archive of the shorts! Kill your productivity here. And watch Dick Fish. And David's Cousin. And don't watch these at work.
I swear this is the best stuff any of these guys have done.

I liked the opening bit a lot, the rest was exactly what I would expect from these guys. that is to say, I enjoyed it but it wasn't great.
whats "dip my balls in it" from? I missed the reference yesterday when someone said it and I only now realize it's a reference at all.
I'm not getting the "instant classic" feeling from this show like I got from Stella... but I'm definitely willing to give Michael & Michael time to grow. David Wain better guest star in some episodes though!

the 'well' opening grabbed me enough to watch for a few weeks.
plus I mean... not that people in this thread don't understand but I can't imagine not watching whatever these guys put out while it's on.
I liked it well enough. The girlfriend and I were smiling most of the way through at least. Obviously hasn't reached The State/WHAS/Stella levels yet, but I'd say give it time.
Has anybody ever watched Viva Variety from the late 90s? Didn't that also involve some State members? I just remember seeing commercials for it here and there, but never caught it because I was transitioning off of cable for a while.
Dip My Balls In It was a reference to a character played by Ken Marino (Vinnie Van Lowe from Veronica Mars, one of the gay demons from Reaper) on The State. It was supposed to parody cheesy one note characters on other sketch shows.
They've been doing this thing on MTV2 where they throwback to the 90s, so they've been showing stuff like The State and Beavis and Butthead.

Comedy central ran a few episodes of The State this week, I guess to celebrate the Michael and Michael show, but all it reminded me of was how I was oddly attracted to Michael Ian Black in drag during the origami sketch. I felt uncomfortable.

I enjoyed it.
It made me wish Stella was never canceled, but I enjoyed it.

My bad, I'm currently in Idaho, so its 11:30, 10:30 for west coast.
I'll fix it.

It was the sketch show the guys from Stella and Reno 911 had back in the 90s on MTV. It's hilarious.
Here's a video of Michael Black on Craig Ferguson:

Comedy Central airs Michael and Michael have issues.
You really have to wonder what the pitch for the show was.
"Yeah, that third guy was a dick. Imagine Stella...without that third guy!"

This show seems like it could be okay, but it has plenty of room for improvement from what I saw.

However, they brought out Aziz Ansari and he was fucking amazing.
