Hey guys, before I buy this I want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. I have a flat screen television with an HDMI port, and a white macbook that I got last summer. From what I've read, this cable is the correct one to get my mac to display on the TV. Let me know if this isn't the case.
A second question, can I use this as a DUAL screen setup, or is it just for displaying the onscreen somewhere else? If it is the latter, how do I get the TV to be a second screen?
Thanks!

I believe the setting you want is "stretch display". My MacBook is charging right now, though, so I can't confirm this.
A warning: although it is HDMI, which carries both video and audio signals, that cable will ONLY carry video. If you want audio going to your TV, you'll have to find the proper combination of cords/adapters to get from your Mac's 1/8" audio out port to get to your TV.
And yes, you can use it as a dual screen setup. In the 'Display' config screen within System Preferences you can turn on mirroring (both screens show the same thing) or configure the second screen however you want (pick the resolution, specify the physical arrangement of the two screens, rotate the display, etc).
