Can anyone recommend me a program that will let me pick some pictures then randomly change my back ground at timed intervals, The ones goggle brings up seem filled with spy ware, I was hoping someone here has one they use personally they could recommend.

I have not used it, but I can vouch for the legitimacy of the company that makes it.

Stardock sells a program called Deskskapes for Windows Vista Ultimate.

It's primarily for animated backgrounds, so I'm unsure on whether or not it works with still pictures. Either way it has the ability to change your desktop background based on time of day, weather, or some other different things. There is a free demo, but it sounds like it may be restricted to the 5 animated backgrounds it comes with. While it's advertised as a tool for Windows Vista Ultimate, the documentation says it works in all versions of Windows Vista.

    Give it a shot?

it will do jpg gif and png. you can set it to tile/stretch/center invidiual images, change images every minute/hour/day, have it change the image on windows startup, and even set a key-binding (mine is window key + x) to change. you can set the changing to go in order or random.

I use to use wallmaster pro, but it starts asking for a donation and you get a little message on your desktop in the corner until you do.
Now I use Wallpaper Changer. A few of the advanced options arent explained brilliantly, but it seems to do the job ok.

I don't know if vista has it, but Windows 7 has a wallpaper rotater built in.

Look for a program called Adolix. It's not obtrusive and a relatively small download. I think it beats stardock and some of the others.

Wallpapa is free and very easy to use - I have a networked drive that hosts my images and just rotate it at set intervals, or on demand.
