Playstation One games not Showing Video on PS2

I've been trying to play some old PS1 games on the PS2 recently, and the game starts fine with the PS logo, then when the actual game starts I get a black screen, but can hear and play the game fine. Sometimes however, games like megaman: legends will show the menu but the actual game is still black. Could it be the TV im using? I remember being able to play games fine on my old TV, but it doesn't seem to work on this one.

Thanks!

It's weird that it shows SOME stuff, but not others. For me, I can't play any PS1 games over component because my TV doesn't support the resolution that PS1 games run at over a component connection, for some dumb reason. I have to switch to an s-video cable. But in my case, I don't see any video whatsoever.

The PS2 runs PS1 games in their original resolution, which was well below 480i - if you have a newer TV, it might not be able to display it.

This is my guess as well.

Are you using component cables or a SCART lead for your PS2? Try using composite - your TV might accept the 240i feed from there, but not anything less than 480i over YPbPr/SCART/etc.

Looking for a DX:HR OnLive code for my kid brother.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.

I say, try Composite (as opposed to component). I mean, unless you already are doing so..
