For people who have sent DS games - what mailer do you use? I just got a game using a #2 mailer, and that seems like it's larger than necessary. Would a #0 mailer be too small? I haven't sent any DS games before and would prefer to not have problems when I start adding them to my offers list.

Size #0 is fine. DS case is as long as a dvd case and half the size.

I've had Earth Defense Force 2017 on my requests list so long I thought I wouldn't get that game until it was a game about our past.
It finally got matched up today, and the guy is in the same province (very likely within an hours or two, as most people in Ontario are), so glory day!
More people need to request Wolverine so I can get rid of it.
edit: Success! Now the points just need to come in so I'm unrestricted for all the games I'm near the top for. Just cashed in 1000 points for Saboteur, which I guess I jumped the line for or something.

You know.. as long as he.. ships it.
Sooo, I got a PM saying that he couldn't find the manual, so he requested a trade cancellation.
I told him I've been waiting so long for the game that I don't care about the manual, as long as I get the disc and case. No response yet, but I'm not going to accept the cancellation.
I have a feeling the guy just doesn't feel like shipping a 100 point game. I'm willing to sit it out for a couple of weeks just so he gets a negative mark for being a goof.
Woo, #6 for No More Heroes 2 and #8 for Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Staying up till 1:30AM hitting refresh over and over sure is easier when you don't have a job.
Moved through a big backlong of requests this last week -- got Assassin's Creed II in the mail, and just yesterday got matched up for blu-ray versions of The Wrestler and Fight Club. Not bad after a couple weeks of no activity whatsoever.
If the dude wasn't comfortable shipping a 100 point game, homefry shouldn't have listed it.
This.
Exactly, which is why I won't accept the cancellation. I just got a shipping confirmation today on the game, so maybe he decided to ship it out anyhow. He never responded to my reply to his cancellation request, which is why I'm sensing something is up.
Infinite Undiscovery might be among the worst games I've ever played. Might just stop playing and put it up and hope someone takes it off my hands pretty soon.
Seriously, eventually it starts a mechanic where your own teammates start killing you if you wander around too long.

Ah-yup. I got it for $10 when it was on ridiculous sale @ Best Buy, played.... 10 minutes? I think?
I'm so paranoid about putting the wrong address on the package that now I print out the goozex mailing info, cut out the senders address, and tape it onto the package. No way to mess that up.
That brings up a point I was interested in. Why is it that when I print a Goozex shipping label it lists Goozex corporate offices as the return address instead of mine? If a package was undeliverable, would it go to them? What would happen after that? Do they send it back to me?

I'd prefer not to find out, so I scratch it out and put my home address.
So I had Goozex ship a game to my old addy. I left the guy positive feedback since I wasn't able to pick up the game within the time frame. I went to pick it up tonight and the back cover has fucking coffee stains all over it. I requested a full package. What do you guys think I should do? I'm pretty pissed.

Positive feedback implies that you received the game, and that it was in the condition you requested or better. You already gave it, so I'm not really sure there is anything you can do. They give you a particularly long window (the seller is supposed to send the game within three days, but you've got weeks before you have to give feedback) during which you are supposed to test the game.
It's not his fault you weren't able to pick the game up on time.
edit: Also, it's kind of a dick move making someone wait so long for feedback. Is there a reason (post box too small, thieving neighbors, etc) you can't have packages sent to your actual address?

I moved to a new apartment. I realize I couldn't get the game in time, that's why I left him positive feedback (since he asked for feedback). It's more of a dick move to send a game with fucking coffee stains on the cover. I PM'd him and he said, oh yeah I got it that way.
As expected, no rebuttal so auto resolved in my favour. I'm just being patient for my points and my place in the queue back now right? I'm not sure why it can't happen automatically as soon as the case is closed though. The dispute system may keep your points safe from scammers but it ties them up for a bloody long time while it does so.
Ah, sweet! I bought a bunch last year when the sale cropped up, and it kept me in games for basically the entire year. I play slow and retrade at least half of what I receive, because I'm pretty damn picky. And Goozex lets me be picky. :^:
I had my first less than positive Goozex experience. I requested a game as a full package and received it without the instructions. Does anyone know what feedback I should leave in this situation? I looked through my choices but none of them actually matched up with my experience.
You requested Full Package and received essentially "disk only," which qualifies as a Neutral. There's no disc + case option so it defaults to just disc.
One thing I've been digging about the blu-ray forum is that despite the glacial pace, it seems that many people use it as a discounted way of buying points. The Fight Club bluray was new & sealed, and ultimately was probably a good deal if you were looking to get points. Since I'm trying to get rid of old games and get shiny new stuff without spending money, though, I get someone else to do the legwork of acquiring the new movies. Pretty cool setup.
The Silence of the Lambs bluray I received was new, too. Pretty happy with that.

I definitely check out the discount bins whenever I'm in a store that sells video games. It's not that I want any of the game (fuck, most the time I don't even own the right console), but I want to see if stores are putting a low enough price on games that will net me extra goozex points.
I saw 6 copies of Mark Ecko's Getting Up at Zellers for $3 each, and I got excited! It wasn't until I checked and saw it's only 100 points that I calmed down and left the store.

I'm a sucker for bringing up the Gooz Valuator on my phone whenever I'm in Wal*Mart or Target and they've got those massive shelves of $10-$15 games out.
Quick question, I have a game offered up that found a match, I haven't accepted yet because the seller sent me a message asking me to give it to the next person. I asked why, because it looks like if I reject a trade I have to wait 5 days before it's relisted, when he shouldn't have it as a request if he doesn't want it. I probably will reject, since he's a new user joined a month ago, and he's asking me not to send, but, is there anything else that happens besides it coming back in 5 days, do I lose my place in line?
Instead of rejecting him, you should probably just let it time out. I think the penalty for timing out is that the item ends up going on hold and you don't lose your place in line (or at worst you just get bumped back one spot). Also the time it takes a trade to time out is much shorter than 5 days.

Happy milestone of interest to nobody but myself - but I've traded enough now that I'm credited the points as soon as I confirm shipping.
*sniff* They grow up so fast...
It's so sweet, isn't it? I wasn't aware of that jump when it happened to me, so I was like, whoa, I didn't think I had that many points... then only realized it when my points didn't increase upon positive feedback. ;P
But yeah, it's nice. I don't even really bank on it in a margin trading way, I just sort of like the nod of trust it implies for being a good trader.
Yeah, and apparently nobody trades Tales of Eternia ever. It's only been traded 11 times in Goozex history, and I've had it in my queue for, oh, almost a year now without budging from #8. I suppose I'll need to buy that one. :P

I guess we'll see when it gets here!
Also, there is apparently an app for Android phones that lets you scan a game's SKU with your phone and add it to your Goozex queue. Crrrrrazy!
This is all in the newest newsletter.

The guy seems to have utterly dropped of the radar so in three days the dispute should auto resolve in my favour and give me back my points.

Bought'd.

Not only that, but the envelope was open in my mailbox and the case is crushed and broken.
Might as well have been Disc + Manual.

I've also had HAWX on my offers list hovering at 10 since Halloween. I guess everyone caught on to how shitty that game is.

HAWX is awesome.
I'm just waiting until it's 200 points before I request it.
:P
That's a solid plan. I hope you have the flight stick, because the control scheme is not configurable in the game.
