Hmmm...I am contemplating getting the limited edition Tekken 6 that comes with a Fightstick. Yet I already have a SF4 fightstick I don't use because of the sucky joystick and modding it would be cheaper than the 90 bucks I'd be paying for the stick(package is 150 so 60 + 90).
The tekken stick is a hori right? Chances are some buttons will break down the road and you will have to swap them out anyway. Modding the hori buttons is a pain in the ass. I would just swap out the stick on the SE. What's wrong with the stick anyway? You may be able to improve it without buying anything.
I had fun with you guys. I know 1600points said that I'm hard on myself, but I really did have fun playing. I'm going to definitely try to learn Noel. Once I can stop using that stupid range shot on accident all the time, I think my game will really improve. It was nice to see Carl and Bang action going on as well.
Good games to all tonight. Thanks for putting up with mostly me just playing Carl most of the night. It was a lot of good practice against a bunch of characters.

everytime a tager manages to emerald buster a v13, an angel gets its wings
and chaoshat, you were right, i tested it and you can indeed run in and 2A 5B 5CjB jC jD etc a noel. which is awesome because it deals more damage than a standard 2A into hitconfirmed BnB. I think you do need the momentum from a run in, though.
WHAT IT TRANSLATES TO: noel is basically the hardest person to land that combo on (ignoring the ones where its impossible) so that should mean with someone like ragna or tager you might not even need the momentum from a run in. woo, no more lame 2A 5B 5C ice car
WHAT I DON'T REALIZE: all of this information is probably stored somewhere and I'm months behind figuring this out

The main problem I have with it is the square gate. The way I move the stick I always end up missing diagonals when I mean do to quarter motions. I'm thinking a Octagon gate would be more up my alley.
Also, three ragequits in one night. That's a new BB record for me.
Those emerald busters were like "nah, it wouldn't catch that fa... WTF."
I forgot that I was magnetized for the last one.
And carl's hitbox is so small. I'm not sure if my throw > 236A > 6C is missing because of it.
I also hate when haku's swords get stuck with multi hitting projectiles. Like the gear super. And ara's D bugs.
A wonderful thing is a Tager!
A Tager's a wonderful thing!
Their arms are Tesla coils!
Their gauntlets are covered in bling!
They're hearty heavy friendly deadly
fun fun fun fun fun,
and the best thing about a Tager is
I'm the only one!
I'd probably use Tager if I could get 360s and 720's down.

I wouldn't worry about being months behind. This would be something to care about if the community support and documentation of shit was half as good as SRK. Dustloop is meeeeeeh.
Oh and Nic since your dabbling in Carl and Haku. Ima dabble in Tager and Bang. Thats right, now whos laughing! Hahahaha <<< ME
edit:
Bang says: "I once had a dog named Kagimaru... He was like a younger brother to me. I'm sure he felt the same way."
Hilarious
Go for it man, both of them are very fun to play, especially Bang once you get the hang of him. Hakumen will be a little further down the line for me. I'm going to spend a lot more time with Carl for now. That means you can take off 2/3 or more of Carls life with one Emerald Tager, uuuugh.

I haven't given Bang a real chance yet. But I played around with Tager this morning and he's pretty awesome and easy to pick up. I really really like the damage he can do. I'm going to master his j.2C rapid cancel combo for the godlike damage. It does like 6k damage without having to double up on the rapid cancels, thats fuckin sexy! I suppose the trick is learning matchup specific combos and strategies.

Fucking Taokaka vs Hakumen in arcade mode is gun in mouth worthy. Does Hakumen actually have this much health or is he cheating in the arcade? If so, there's no way I could ever see Tao winning this fight. She deals too little, he deals so much.

It's like that online, too. Hakumen doesn't take much damage from Tao at all.
Also, getting so frustrated - I'm at level 40 online now and in order to advance, all I can play is people who are like, 50+ and who've mastered every single freaking infinite/retarded-long combo in the game. And I'm still struggling with Tao's Drive loop. :x

But the Tekken stick will surely be a square gate. Swapping out the gate is the easiest thing ever. You screw off the bottom. Pop the gate off, pop the new one in. Screw the bottom back on and you're done. The gate is like $5 from lizard lick, I'm not sure how long they take to get now though. I put an octo gate on my hori and it made a huge difference. I suggest you try it before buying another stick or giving up on sticks completely.

Ive noticed a lot of people in the 40s and 50s have just mastered 1 or 2 long combos, but can't defend against shit. I can land a simple 3C on wakeup 75% of the time on someone who can do 40% of my life on hit confirm. I don't know if this is good or bad, but it just seems to me that most of these people never learned how to play the game, just how to find something abuseable and capitalize on it.
This also leads to frusterating matches as Ragna though, because I either keep them from hitting me the whole time or end up trapped in the 1 or 2 combos it takes to kill me

I kinda wish I had saved that replay of me beating Sols Nu with the Arakune corner trap. I felt kinda bad about winning that way though.
I need to fight you more so I can get more consistent against Arakune. My matches with him always border between me crushing him completely and vice-versa, with little middle ground.

If I'm not mistaken, the Hakumen in arcade mode is the boss version of Hakumen, which appears to have more life than normal Hakumen (plus he gains magatama much faster).

Sorry about that guys, was hoping to get something early before it would be too close to dinner. After awhile I got into story mode, and wanted to try to finish that shit up. By the time I got those invites I would have had to leave much to early and that woulda been a pain.

I noticed the super magatama gain, I just wasn't aware if that was a health buff or not.
Well I've been trying Ragna for a bit, decided I needed a bit more basic character while I really learn this game seeing as how I never played a GG before. If anyone has a lobby up or anything send me an invite so's I can practice against real people (read: Get raped).

Damn, it took me two whole hours to find out where I screwed up on Noel's story path. I was stuck at 95% for so long until I tried beating the first path (beat Tager) without Distortion Finishing anyone and finally got her story to 100%.
Seriously, how is anyone supposed to get the True Ending without using some sort of guide? So glad I didn't do much in the other stories so that I can salvage it using that guide.

The 13's not meant to be pronounced, I'm pretty sure it was there specifically so people would recognize it as the greek letter and not as "v".
I thought the V stood for version.
also George XIII > v-13.
Oh yeah, Nick and Stoked, great carls.

Fun and games with haku's counter.
I prefer to not get stuck and eat punishments.
That 3C was stupid on my part though.
And i think that they're called magatamas.
