They probably do it to have a higher W/L ratio. Though I don't see it much on XBL(probably because you have to pay). Though really, W/L ratio doesn't mean too much and it is your basic E-peen syndrome.

Video shows shows alot of not too many D use. Mostly fancy. There's like a CA RC (100% heat) combo for 3k or soemthing.

It also shows her insane damage output when used right.

Well Jin's sword makes magical evil ice that can put out fires. It's not normal ice. It's a rather nasty Nox though. Prolonged use may turn you into a sociopath.

GGs stig. Some tips to consider ( I may be wrong, tian or hippy may have some other tips as they are also pretty knowledgeable)

5B is so crazy for tao you should use it more. It's pretty short range but has some crazy speed and can link into her good combos. I dislike using A to start just cus of the prorating and your combo will do nothing. So 5B can go into 5C or 3C. From 5C if your close enough you can 3C. If your too far use 236AAAA D, b cancel then start the fun all over. If you dont' b cancel then you can use other cancels or not even cancel at all for some mind games.

3C can lead to some awesome damage if you hit which you already know as you combo'd from it a few times just thought i'd mention it. You had the throw combos down which is also good.

I saw you use 6B alot, never use that unless you hit them with like a 5B or 2A first. The hit stun from those attacks will make sure they can't hit you out of that or really run away.

Use hexaedge special more. The pounce one will get hit out by random crap or if they're not doing anything, they just have to hold down during the flash to block it, which leads to some terrrrrible punishment. Lag made you get hit by my random specials, but usually it didn't work in reverse just cus that special is so damn finicky.

You used 6C into comboes which was really cool, because alot of taos online can't do that, or pull off any of the drive loop comboes. I'm pretty sure the lag messed up some of your combos which was too bad. What you can do is use 5C, if it's a counter hit, use 6C, it will hit, then go into the combo. 5C has good range, just know how to use it at max distance for max awesome.

If your pressured, like between carl and nirvana, just get familiar with the pattern and either mash 2A (risky i know but that move is pretty fast) or jump the hell away. In the carl instance, after the puppet punches you can jump away and get the hell out of there. Also faultless to push them away. Need to use that more so you don't get guardbroken too. If you see our guard libra flashing use it cus unfortunately tao has TERRRIBLE guard so it will break really fast :(.

If i think of more i'll post, but these were some good games, you had the comboes down quite nicely :) and hopefully these tips help a bit...

Thanks! I did notice about half way through our matches that I was having much more success with 5b than 5a. I'm not sure if it was lag messing up my combos or just the spacing when I started them. Either way I still need to work on them :P

edit: I swear Jin must have like 50+ total frames of invincibility when you add up all his moves.

Did anyone bother to watch the WestCoastWarzone top 8? The framerate was horrendous and the chat was filled with haters so I gave up (it was also 3:30am here). I know Real Soviet Damage got knocked early - I never realized how bullshit Ara and V could be, and I thought SF4 was rage inducing D:

Well I've read a lot about them shortly after release, but I trailed off since BB Europ 360 is so fucking far away. Was watching the WestCoast Warzone stream last night, and it was BB Top 8, and it was mainly "D to a D to a D to a D to another D OH THERE's a D!" and "into a Dishwasher!" (I'm sure you know which characters those quotes pertain to :P), just didn't realize how helpless Tager was, poor Mike Z :(

On the plus side, Kennyon put up a good fight with boobie lady <3 And Rachel is beastly as always, haven't see too much of her though, but whoever played Rach that night was tearing an Arakune apart.

    Any links?

Also, I find it funny when people kept complaining about D usage. It's where our main zoning tool is, so what the hell else should we use when we zone? If you put some zoning tools in A, B or C then we'll use them. (which for the gravity wells kinda I guess).

It's good, but most of Nu's most damaging combos come from C anyway.

One thing I can agree with about Nu being overpowered in is that she does too much damage. Same with other top 3, though with arakune it's more that he shouldn;t be able to get into his curse lock down game and insane damage to boot so easily.. Tager is pretty much just generally gimped anyway, hakumen less so.

Nerf/buff patch would be cool (just so I can play her without people complaining to hell and back :P), and we'll definitely see some changes next revision anyway.

There's only archived the SF4 matches right now, though they're in the process of uploading all match vids to westcoastwarzonevideos.com or something, seems the site isn't online yet.

[edit]Oh, and in one of the matches they got the "You'll never forget your first time" achievement

I don't know how Nu works, but if D's (which I'm assuming is how the swords come out?) your zoning tool then at least have some limitation to it, all I saw was swords appearing one by one in half second intervals in random directions towards the opponent, seemingly with no cooldown either. One Nu catches you with a sword, you get a free 10hit+ aircombo. This is from watching the really crappy stream though, so I couldn't make out the finer details.

Nu doesn't need a zoning game where she can easily stuff any approach on reaction. No one does. Even Arakune has to guess a little bit for his zoning game, not that he isn't also cheap as well.

Nu is still a crutch character. Just look at EscapingJail, he's downright terrible and he still wins despite barely knowing how to play the game. He's, like, the textboox definition of scrub.

Nu does need something to stop an approach, by now it's easy enough to get in on a nu unless the nu is really good which in any case is fine. If the Nu is good, she can keep her distance. However you're right that she can stuff an approach a little too well.

Arakune is not grounded like Nu. I'm not really a Nu expert but she primarly wants to stay on the ground. Arakune's clouds will zone for him. Once he gets a curse off he doesn't even need to zone, he can lock you down with the bugs filling the gaps in his pressure. Hate arakune so much.

You make it sound like Nu doesn't have anything besides spamming D. Not only does she stuff approaches for free, but she also has some of the highest priority normals in the game (her C moves) and she can just teleport for a free escape or mixup pretty much whenever she wants.

You're just making it sound like Nu only has one good move and she'd be crap without it, which isn't true at all. Even without safe D zoning spam she'd probably still be solid A tier.

Hate arakune so much.
    .

I'm pretty sure I didn't quite vocalize my thoughts correctly. This is what I was trying to say.
Nu was made to be a zoning character obviously. They gave her too much stuff/options and that made her too good. End. Oh and I hate arakune, i said that as well.

Didn't mean to make it sound like however i made it sound, in fact i was mostly agreeing with you or at least trying to.

Well there shouldn't be a matchup so skewed like that, especially with such a small roster.

edit: if you want me to spout out pure matchups alone, tager has an equally hard time with rachel and nu, a slightly worse time with arakune, the worst with carl, pretty bad with jin, and the rest are all 6-4 aginst him (he's the 4) with mirror and haku maybe being his only good matchup.

Btw, you didn't see the full vid. It's part of a pretty long match set from nico, and that tager did win one match from... 3? 4? I'll see if I can find it on youtube.

I'd say a fair patch would be to remove her completely and insert her in a danmaku game.

His worst matchup is with Carl? For the love of God, why?

Do they use Nirvana to block his grapples or something?

Tager can't really zone to keep carl out.

And tager's attacks are slow ass.

Carl can go into clap loop from... 2A? Or 5A? I do know he could go to it from 3C.

And his big size just makes clapping him and getting him into clap alot easier.

You don't need someone to block grapples when you can hardly get it in. Carl is too small and mobile.

It's funny to see him genesic emerald buster through carl's gear super though.

Tager clearly needs a bigger budget for more research and development to enhance his power of science.
