Noticed my PS2 has started to develop problems. First noticed it in games with full video, they'd freeze and start occasionally. Then dialog would start lagging randomly - a few lines would be fine, then characters would trade subtitles for a bit and then three or four lines would play simultaneously. Now it stops and goes constantly during games - some games it'll flash Reading Disk in a box for a few seconds every time it stutters, in others it'll just freeze for a second.
It's an old system, way out of warranty. Is it just dying on me?
If it is just dead, would it be a better idea to get a new PS2 or would a Gamestop refurbished system be just as good?
Figured it would be something expensive. $60 is almost as much as I paid for the thing to start with, screw that. I'll wait until next month and buy a new one.

Just buy a new one and sell the old one before it completely dies.

I really hope you're not suggesting that he pawn this thing off on some unsuspecting sucker.
