The harder you press the buttons the more damage it does. There are some PC gamepads that have analog buttons like that. I think maybe the black and white buttons on the original Xbox were the same, though I'm guessing that's one of those myths that start after exactly what the comic is showing.

I'm aware that there are pressure sensitive fancy boy buttons nowadays.

See, back in the day it was the old joke of having one friend who would not press buttons so much as crush them beneath his grip of steal. This mighty bashing would lead to his digital counterpart hitting harder in his own crazy little mind.

I had one friend who would always pick the big bulky guy in fighting games, like Jax or Zangief. Then he would power smash buttons. It was a disease I tell you. In his little mind it made him hit harder, or at least he thought he should have beaten me more when I whooped his ass with Sub-Zero or Ken.

Highly unlikely, since Arc made BlazBlue because they no longer own Guilty Gear.

And the US version supposedly has a good dub, from what I've heard of it.

The only problem with BlazBlue audio wise is that the characters never shut the fuck up. I just lowered the talking volume and raised the music volume a whole bunch to compensate.

Ain't no motherfucker going to be talking over this song while I dish out some real soviet damage:

Oh, he's definitely not an easy character. Negative edging while holding directions to make your bugs come out when someone is cursed? I can hardly wrap my head around doing something like that normally, let alone as part of a combo or something.

If a good arakune gets my tager or hakumen in a corner though, it's a bad scene for me.

As for today's comic I love it, because my friend and I are basically having these sorts of moments all the time as we play the game together.

I'm so used to Dpad at this point i hardly even notice. In fact it makes guile easier to play IMO. either way I used to play a lot of street fighter on the SNES (I mean a LOT of street fighter) so I hardly ever notice anymore. (except with zangief, god he's hard with a dpad)

I heard Sega owns the rights to Guilty Gear now. Chipp from Guilty Gear is mentioned in a cutscene in BlazBlue, along with a small silhouette, though I have no idea if they'd need permission to do something like that or not.
