Since HA offered me such amazing advice on NY, i was hoping for some tips on visiting Barcelona.
Me and my girlfriend (both 25) will be staying there for 4 nights in mid-august.
hurray for surprise birthday gifts.
So far i'm looking at visiting the music hall, la rambla, ofcourse the sagrada familia, the aquarium and the city parc.
i've got some guides for the city from the library, but it's hard to make out what's good and what not..
We'll be staying near the water on the east side of the city (end of the diagonal street).
i'm interested in art, she's.. reasonably interested in art (nothing too modern or abstracts.. so the miro museum's a no-go).
cheap is always nice, but we don't mind spending some money on a good thing.
any food recommendations for some descent dinner would be really appreciated.

Go to all the Gaudi buildings, and Gaudi Park if you're into his style of art, and since you've listed the Sagrada Familia, sounds like Gaudi's up your alley.
Other than that, you've got the places listed that I went to when i was there... I'd suggest spending some time down at the beach, as well. It's beautiful down there, and there's a shopping centre at the end of La Ramblas that's nice to walk around in and get out of the sun/heat for a while if that's a concern. You can also ride a cable car from the waterfront up one of the hills, which gives you a pretty amazing view of the city.
As for food/drink, the Sangria's are good, and they eat supper way way late there, so I would advise trying that out. Most restaurants are open and serving food well after 10pm, so factor that in. I can't remember what restaurants we went to when I was there, but there's plenty around to choose from.
Barcelona is an awesome city in general, and you'll definitely enjoy it.
