It's fun song, and quite obviously a Weezer style parody. (ok, I guess maybe it's not. It kinda sounded Weezerish to me, but I don't know that much Weezer stuff anyway, so let's just say it's a general Alternative style)
Weird Al is a national treasure. I would love to see him in concert somedy.
A friend of mine was like, 'hey, wanna go see Weird Al?'
I was like 'sure'.
He never ended up getting tickets. It was sold out when I asked him if he got tickets.
This new song sounds like a Jonathan Coulton song.
I'd say Skipper Dan is in the style that's about as close as you get to "Al Yankovic" style.
Yeah, but it'd be a bit redundant to say "This song sounds like a Weird Al song"
People were talking about how it sounded to them and it specifically reminded me of a Jonathan Coulton song, but I can't really remember which one.
Plus, The Geek said it's "very obviously" a Weezer-style parody, but the only Weezer-style I hear is the guitar, but nothing else about the song reminds me of Weezer at all

kind of what happens when you keep doing the same act for 30 years
Man, I totally said that in the OP. I just hadn't around to making the thread, yet so BACK OFF.
Wow, nice.
as for the song - sounds kind of like a TMBG song. I like it.

Good thing no one said that Weird Al sucks then.
I ended up getting bored.com. It was very fitting. Because this song is fucking boring.
Faynor and Bedlam basically did
no they said he was played out
which he is
because i grew bored of him in my early teens
I love "Don't Download This Song" so much
especially the music video

I don't mind Weird Al, but I wouldn't put any of his music on my iPod. His stuff is funny to me once or twice and then just eh afterwards

...I don't see an issue with this.

It's sort of like saying Larry the Cable Guy is your favorite public speaker.
But the difference here is that Larry the Cable Guy is not a Public Speaker, he's a comedian.
Whereas Weird Al Yankvoic and Tenacious D are both musicians. That write and perform music.

Tenacious D is not a joke band.
