Fall of Islamic golden age

I believe it was mentioned in a thread in debate & discourse. Middle eastern culture was very advanced and progressive in the middle ages. This all changed, some people say x y or z did it, but there was a particular book that was written at that time that many put the blame for at least the start of the fall. Anyone know the name of the book or the author?
