So about a week ago facebook and gmail started running really slow on me, I can't figure it out. It takes like two minutes for a poke to come up, 5 for a friend request to come up, and even when it comes up it doesnt do anything, I cant click buttons or anything I just get to look at it. As for gmail, I tried to send a 10kb attachment on an email and it just sat there for about an hour with "Still Working..." at the top and it never sent it. I haven't made any changes to my computer or software recently so I don't think its something on my end. Maybe those two sites went through some sort of upgrade? My computer is pretty crappy so an upgrade might result in my machine slowing down, but no other sites I go to have slowed down any.
Hovering over the little connection icon says 100mb/s, I share it with my roommate but its slow whether his computer is on or off, I use Firefox (3.0.12 currently), Charlotte NC.

That's how fast your computer talks to your router. What I want to know is how fast your actual internet connection is, which you can find out by going to http://www.speedtest.net
You may also want to try a different browser like Chrome or even IE, if this solves the problem then you should completely uninstall and reinstall firefox
Ok, tried opera and that seemed to work so I reinstalled Firefox and the pokes loaded fine, but trying to get to someones profile makes it freeze.
Any more ideas?
If not, is the bookmark file I get when exporting them from firefox, compatable with Opera? I would hate to have to recreate my bookmark file (which has all my webcomics sorted into folders by day they update).
I've been having similiar problems with Firefox for the last couple weeks too. I think it has something to do with a recent update. Though sometimes if I reboot it seems to fix it, at least for a little bit.

Edit: I had the same problem. Just fixed it by removing some plug-ins from Firefox, maybe you recently added one that screwed things up?
