Hey yawl! Long time lurker with a question that you good folks can hopefully solve.
Well, the story goes, some months ago I was practically living with my ex-girlfriends family in a pretty ghetto part of town. Well, me and her cousin were hanging out and one of his buddies came over with a python he couldn't keep, I adopted it and it's been living with me ever since. Fast forward to the now, this poor little guys stressed out and I just don't have the proper equipment to take care of him. I can barely afford food! I'd like to find a place to sell him and have posted an ad on Kijiji and am considering Craigslist. Are there places I can go to other then through the magic of the internet to, what will be essentially, pawning him? As cruel as it might sound, I'm in desperate need of ends and he's in desperate need of better care, I figure win/win, right?
tl;dr: I've got a ball python that I can't keep. Where can I sell him?
If you call a zoo that's nearby, they may be able to give you a suggestion. You could try a local vet, too, or an animal sanctuary, if there's one around where you live. Someplace may "adopt" it and take it off your hands. You probably won't get any money out of it, but you'll be doing the right thing for the snake.

You can offer it on Craigslist - a lot of people that visit the corn snake forum I frequent find snakes on there. However, Craigslist forbids selling animals - you can only give them away. People skirt that by charging "Rehoming fees", but it's just a weasel word for selling.

NightDragon, thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to search for some sanctuaries right now, hate to see the little dude (or dudette) be so miserable, and Nova_C I put up an ad on craigslist sometime last night after posting and saw the whole "re-homing fee" dealy. Thanks for the advices though yawl, 'preciate it.

Where are you located? If you're pretty much anywhere in the Bay Area (California) contact these guys http://www.eastbayvivarium.com/
In fact, you might want to contact them anyway. They've been around for a long time and might know of shops/sanctuaries in your area.
