So, is there a list of what class becomes what class? I loves me some armor techs, so becoming a fencer was a no brainer, now I know what that branches into, but i'm still lost on the rest of em.

Scouts can become veteran scouts (more AP), which can become heavy scouts (rifle grenades) or elite scouts (way more AP, plus some other bonuses) or snipers (less AP, sniper rifles), which can become elite snipers (fire more than 1 shot per CP) or anti-tank snipers (self explanatory).
I haven't really looked at the other classes.

Man, Cosette just refuses to learn Super First Aid.
I've been in this "Capture the base" January mission just sitting here having Cosette shoot and then heal Avan over and over again.
EDIT: Of course, the proper course of action is to complain on the internet. The very next CP after I posted this she learned it. Engineer Veteran here I come!

Trust me. Make Zeri your Gunner. Best decision of my life. It's no different than using a flamethrower, except this one shoots bullets instead of fire. Zeri's potentials make for an awesome, durable Gunner, too.
Avan makes for an awesome Trooper Vet.

Mischlitt died doing her own mission when my apc somehow took a direct left turn over some mines. Stupid analog nub. Now my fencer is mia for 3 goddamn missions.

Try to listen for any clicks when you're moving, especially the APC.
If you stop while the APC is still sitting on the mine, it won't detonate, and you're free to deploy your troops from there, or issue a retreat command to the APC.
Yeah, what happened was I was trying to turn the camera while moving, but the analog stick didn't exactly function as i expected it to. It did a kinda quick turn, where the side tread just barely went over the edge of the mine and immediately off. It triggered and detonated at the rear left side of the apc, hitting the generator and blew up immediately in one shot.

welp my urge to play underpowered stuffs got me to get this game. now to make many posts how i hate my life and how my engineer team keeps dying
it was tough. while looking, I also saw steambot chronicles and patapon 2 for $10 each, and somethingsomething my lord 2 for $20, and KH: birth by sleep for the same price of $40. But I went there for VCII so I picked up VCII.
Use 5 CP on them for Cutscene 1
Use another 10 CP for Cutscene 2
Use another 15 CP for Mission
That is so good to know.

Make sure to check the shop after every single mission.
Turns out Welkin isn't the only one who will sell you orders, very rarely Alicia will show up to sell orders as well, and the first one she sells is Area Recon, 3 CP, shows the current position of all enemies in an area.
Finally, no more playing hide and seek with that final enemy hiding off in a patch of grass somewhere.
so, having not played VC1 the finer points of this game are a bit of a mystery to me. how do i maximise overwatch fire during the enemy turn? is it down to the amount of CP/ AP i finish my turn with? can i double up the fire by putting squad members who like each other together?
also i've just got the blueprints for a scout rifle that seems worse than the default in every way save a good suppression rating. worth using?
i'm having a hard time remembering all the relationships and potentials. right now my default squad is built around zeri and the women who love him...

Suppression rating is the chance of the gun inflicting AP Use Up on the target. They're generally not that good during the main game.
Interception fire during the enemy turn depends on two main things,
1) Which way your character is facing
2) The range of their gun
Basically, if they can see and shoot a moving enemy, they will do so.

So I'm in July now.
Oh my god ARTILLERY TURRET!? They're just giving us SO MUCH NEW SHIT TO PLAY WITH! It's like I can almost do everything the Empire was able to pull off in VC1.
To whoever said that AI doesn't kill itself anymore? One Scout Veteran JUST put Cindy (Ace) between himself and Melissa and killed her trying to get at Melissa.
Oh hey, gained Dud Mine by accidentally tripping on a mine trying to get a point back. I didn't even see the stupid thing. Ha!
I just found out I can equip the Medium Tank's Piercing Round turret on Light Tank B. Light Tank B is highly mobile and costs 1 CP to use.Insanity.

AI definitely still kills itself. It's hilarious when a scout ace rushes your tank. Mown down before it even gets next to it.

Easiest place to find it right now is probably the materials from Sega (this is the same PDF that had the codes to unlock Edy Detachment and the stickers). There's a class tree on Page 4, and a guide to the required Credits for leveling to them on pages 13-14. It doesn't say exactly what every class does, but with the info of what options you have, you can find the rest on the 'net
My Class G has now been christened "Team Awesome Attack Squad." This is far, far funnier to me than it really should be, but it fits the über-anime vibe of the game so well.
People are able to recuperate after a mission out of action. Is it possible to have the tank sit out a mission in lieu of paying for repairs, or am I always forced to pay money in order to have it back in working order?

I was forced to do this after forgetting to pay the fine before buying weapon upgrades
I'm loving the game so far, but I do have to admit (even as a very, very fanatical handheld gamer) that this does make me pine for a console version. I only brushed elbows briefly with VC1 on a borrowed PS3, but the more wide-open maps felt expansive, and combined with the slight delay in going into reserves and deploying to newly captured camps, it felt a little more tactical, at least compared to the magical teleporting between maps in VC2. Though the PSP system has its own merits; it's cool to feel like you're fighting on two different fronts, and then pushing the offensive on one map, emerging from behind on the other map and catching the enemy in a crossfire.
Then again, I would never actually finish a console VC, whereas I've already put 15 hours into VC2 in tiny bites here and there. :P

I was expecting a lot worse from the March story mission from all the horror stories.
On the first map I only spawned Avan and the APC, ran Avan over to capture the lower right base and standby, drove the APC down and switched maps, sent a Lancer from the new base up to the overpass to quickly blow up the support vehicle(at the time I didn't even know what it did, but this proved instrumental in beating them). Once the supply vehicle is gone they weaken severely and can't use their big anti-armor shot, so they're basically no threat to the APC unless they get behind it. Lancers are way more dangerous than the V2's at that point, but even then a single lancer shot won't kill the APC and my Engineer Veteran could heal it for about 600 IIRC.
I ended up just using my third phase to rush the APC directly through the last map the end and not deal with that map at all.
I would just like to say fuck the certificate system. I don't understand how you award things, you stupid, stupid system.
I pick a support/supportX mission, kill/cap with only the character I want a single supportX on, and a random lancer gets a supportX for doing jack shit (wasting one APC), and the engineer gets 3 supports for killing 18 dudes and capping 3 points. GRRR.

They can eat an AT Lance to the face, too. Is that phallic enough for you? 'Cause it works pretty well.
Mischlitt came out of the hospital this mission, ended up shankin' bitches left and right. Fencers are so cool.

I did the same with Alexis, though I don't remember if she was a fencer yet. Probably not.
Busted their support vehicle (And this was before I learned that it made them weaker!) then ran Alexis up to whack them down to size.
